M57 with Cokes?

I spotted this 6" M57 no dash at a pawn shop last week. S237xxx SN should put it around 1964. I took a few pictures and left since I already have a 6" 57-1. When looking at the photos a few minutes ago I realized it may have cokes on it. I've never actually seen a set of them. If these are really cokes I may need to go look at it again. Other than the bluing wear at the end of the barrel it was in good condition. Do these appear to be cokes?

They are Cokes that left side panel has been hacked on though.

I believe the early ones came with cokes so probably original stocks to the gun.

Yes, that's a first year (1964) gun and an early one. I have S238292 which shipped mid year. First one shipped was S236941 according to the S&W Standard Catalog. Too bad about the "cokes." Depending on price, might want to buy it anyway. S prefix guns, according to the Catalog have a 25-75% premium.

You should buy that and sell your dash-one. That is a first-year M57 and worth at least twice what your gun is, even in its condition. Lord knows I'd love to have it. Mine was made in 1969 and is a S prefix gun. My guess is those Cokes are still worth a few hundred, even with the football gouged out (probably done to make speed loaders usable).

The value of the modified Cokes only really matters if you sell them or the entire gun to a collector. If you're not doing either one, get it and enjoy it.

That's a fair price for a first year Model 57 wearing Coke Bottle stocks. Does it come with a presentation case? Probably not. Yes, the left side Coke has been gouged for a speedloader but I think that it could be smoothed and polished out a little more to improve its appearance. It's probably a very good shooter. I'd take a chance and buy that revolver and enjoy it!

For that price, I'm tempted to drive from NC to Mississippi to get it. I paid more than that for the one I have, and without getting original stocks, much less the box and tools.

Unless it looks really bad in person and a lot worse than in the picture, I'd be all over that gun.
