So for the last week, the wife has been complaining about symptoms ranging from nausea to abdominal pain. Now she is turning noticeably yellow. Classic symptoms of a blocked bile duct, gallstones, or liver issues.

She went to the doctor had blood taken and her bilirubin is 9. A year ago, it was 1. They are having her go to a gastro doctor tomorrow. It is not gall stones, because the gallbladder has been removed.

Her father died from liver cancer

UPDATE 1...Off for a CT scan at noon today. Thanks for the thoughts

Update 2... CT scan reveals a 12mm mass of some sort in the bile duct. That will be out today and no doubt biopsied.

Update 3. She is in the hospital for tonight. Surgery tomorrow. They say it is a stone in her duct. I hope so. Prayers are working. Thanks

Update 4 9/15... After an MRI yesterday, that failed to be conclusive for a stone she is having a procedure today to bypass the occluded duct. Then another procedure in 2 weeks to put a stent into the occluded duct and look for any further possible conditions that may have caused this. They think that this may be a result from her gastric bypass years ago. All bloodwork is great

Update 5. She is home, and returning to normal color. She has to go back for a second procedure 3 weeks from tomorrow. Thank you for all the well wishes

She may have had 1 or more gallstones slip down the bile duct into the liver, then the body's immune system attacks the liver and wreaks havoc with it, causing Non-Alcoholic Sclerosis of the Liver. Which is what I have. Not a good thing. Not fixable. But can be stabilized for a long time thru diet and medications, if caught early enough.
I really hope your wife's problem is found quickly and is fixable.
Some medical treatments and processes can achieve miracles nowadays.
I will be praying for her to be the recipient of one or more of those miracles.
