Hey Guys ... A few nights ago i ordered a new S&W M29
6.5 barrel ...(Sorry not a 29 - 2 ) . My question is when my gun arrives and i sit on the couch with my M29 Do i need to watch each Dirty Harry movie in the sequence they were made or can i skip around ,,, my wife gets annoyed if i aim my guns at the tv but ,,,...
I have a M19 from the 70's so i appreciate the older guns ,, i just hope this new gun has decent bluing ...I dont mind the HH on a blue gun , less obvious than a SS .....
Thanks guys ,,,any mis-spellings i'll have to blame it on Monday Night Football ..

To answer your question: Yes you have to watch them in order. Then you can go back and watch your favorites again any order you want. Bonus points if you have a M70 458 Win, Automag, LAW Rocket, and big ol spear gun. :)

Dan

Agree, one would watch them in order, not least because Eastwood gets markedly older with each one. The original film caught my eye because I lived in the SF Bay Area when it debuted and yes, that was very much the scene. SF PD had adopted the .41 Mag at that time.

Notice that the man on the business end of Harry's Magnum in the first film (I call him Lucky) is in at least two more of them as other characters, good and bad.

It is best to watch the Dirty Harry movies in the order in which they were made. Doing so provides continuity for weapons, cars, and actors. As for helping Harry while watching, that's between you and your wife, I'm not stepping into that argument.

Post high school I worked in a gun store. We had a customer that was doing what you propose and actually shot his TV with a live round. But it was a Walther PPKs, and it was a James Bond movie. Why he confessed such stupidity is beyond me. Don't be that guy.

Yes, watch them all in order.

Most people will not confess to shooting their TV, Makes me think it happens WAY more than one ever hears about.
Keep your Dry Fire practice to your dry fire area, no live rounds, and use a back stop that stops bullets, don't hang your dry fire target on the wall to the kids bedroom, Don't be a fool, I hope I never have to say "I thought it was unloaded"

Yes, watch them all in order.

While I was fairly new "on the job" in the 1970s, another officer on my department blew up his TV that way doing fast draw practice.:D:D We all got a chuckle out of that too.

Way Way Way more ... I sure as heck wouldn't admit it .

As for watching the Dirty Harry Movies ... watch your favorites first and the others for later .
I don't see a need to watch in the order made ...
except for the first time . The first time you watch them ...
watch in the order made ... after that ... your favorites .

I got to shoot an 44 Automag ... my Son in Law bought one ...
FUN ! Lots of fun ... but both he and I still enjoyed shooting the 44 Magnum revolver more ... recoil impulse is much different ... Handsome Classic Gun ...

Congratulations on the fine score !
Keep the live ammo locked away from the viewing area !

Although I enjoy all of the Dirty Harry movies, I think my favorite has to be "Magnum Force". The introduction with Harry holding his .44 Magnum for about 2 minutes and then cocking it and pointing it at the audience is cool! And then there's all the 4" Colt Pythons that the vigilante cops are shooting. Can't get much better than a S&W Model 29-2 and Colt Pythons!

Don’t forget the hot dog!

No body, but no body puts ketchup on a hot dog. At least that's what I keep telling my wife. I have to be careful so as not to get a 38 caliber vasectomy.

I have been to Eastwood's joint in Carmel several times but he was never there when I was. I guess I should have tried his place in Palm Springs. Callahan is 'da man!
