How do I tell if engravings are factory

I have a 1993 3913ls with scroll engravings.How do I tell if my engravings are factory? Does anyone have the same?Is there a engraving catalog for 1993?Thanks!

It looks to be factory laser etched engraving. A call to factory customer service with the serial number may tell you if it came that way originally; it could also be ordered after purchase.

I called..They were only able to give me the date of manufactuer 10-06-93.They stated "I am not able to verify the exact finish that it left the factory with".

I thought you had to get a letter to find the exact date of manufacture. You can simply call?

The factory has some information and once in a while they actually get it correct. The best way is still getting a letter.

This really only works well for guns made roughly post-1992 or 1983.

I would never call them, I much prefer to send an e-mail.
