It's funny. The flag on the back is covered up. The local LE is calling it a terrier attack and the Feds are saying it's not. Both can't be true at the same time.

Who is telling the truth? The feds or local LE? Who do you all believe?
I'll believe you before either to be honest.
It's not advantageous for any le agency to lay out all the cards like that before the case is built.
That's the media spinning statements for ratings and advertising money

I saw one source that ID'd the pickup as a Ford Lightning which is an EV. If so, the damages/deaths could have been much worse if it had caught on fire. Can anyone verify if it was a Lightning model?

There is no consensus on what legally constitutes terrorism. But it is normally associated with commission of violent acts against a population with the intent of achieving some political end.

The media didn't say any of that, the feds and LE agencies themselves did.

Again, both statements cant't be true at the same time.

Who are you going to believe, the feds who have a history lying or your lying eyes? Namely the black flag on the back of the truck that's obviously intentionally covered up? If it walks like a duck...

To me whatever the feds say, the opposite is more likely to be true.

Please don’t fall for the false narrative that EVs are more dangerous than gas cars.

Can you imagine if 200 sticks of dynamite had gone off in the French Quarter? That is LESS than the average energy contained in a tank of gas in a full-size ICE truck.

Teslas with a bed full of fireworks burn nicely. :) Contrary to internet lore, the LVFD put it out quickly. There's one crispy critter inside.

What does the flag on the back of the truck tell you? Random act or maybe a terrier attack?

A bit of tit for tat. We or allies attack with drones or planes. Our enemy brings terror to home shores with planted bombs or truck suicide missions.

Reports here Houston PD has a SWAT team
checking out a location in North Houston connected
to this mope.
Other suspects involved regarding explosive being found around
the French Quater.

Not sure what the controversy is - the FBI is calling the incident an act of terrorism. Is that not good enough somehow?

Federal law enforcement is investigating a mass casualty event in New Orleans as an “act of terrorism" after a truck was driven into crowds on a popular nightlife street in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

I was reading where the barrier system to prevent such an event were taken down for repair and were not back in place. Considering that a major bowl game is being played there, and it was New Years Eve, maybe someone would have been smart enough to say "Hey! We should block the area with jersey barriers or big dump and garbage trucks".

I guess no one did.

What? City employees think for themselves?? No.. they would have to request the use of anything for blocking sidewalks in triplicate and wait for permission from 'higher ups'. The words individual initiative and government should never be used in the same sentence.
