I emailed Armalaser, my favorite trigger guard laser maker, and I got this response today:

Hi Scott,

Thank you for reaching out to ArmaLaser. We are currently working on a laser for the Bodyguard 2.0 and hope to have it available this spring.

Sincerely,
ArmaLaser Inc.

HOLY GUACAMOLE!! Hot beans & rice with cheese!

THAT is like music to my ears without the muffs on!:D

Having a laser will be SO much better than that tiny front sight and exceeding wide (For no reason) rear! After hundreds of years Smith & Wesson decide they're going to re-invent rear sights, and give us a 2x wider view so we'll have no idea where we're shooting?

There's a lot to like about the BG2, so I'll be patient and wait for the laser, then order new holsters etc. :)

Not having a BG 2.0 I was unaware there was no rail: I deleted my post. Mea culpa...:o

Cheers!

P.S. The Crimson Trace 207 Laser/Light at under $61 is STILL an awesome deal!

I have 3 green lasers on 3 difference firearms, and they are such an improvement for me to quickly locate a target.

I believe the premise for S&W to have a wider than typical rear sight slot was to be able to quickly find the front sight in a short distance defense encounter. The problem for me is 1 – the front sight should have been big and green. And 2 – the rear sight should be white dotted. I could not find the rear sight quick enough.

For targets beyond 21 feet, a tight slot in the rear sight of course should make for more accurate POI.

The comments on the XS Sight option appears to be very good.

I’m also very eager to get a green ArmaLaser, grip activated unit.

Hey, folks,

Back on 12Feb, I received an email response to my specific inquiry about a green laser with the following:

"We are hoping to have a laser out for the Bodyguard 2.0 within the next 2-3 months."

As we know, release dates for new stuff is often up in the air, but I thought I would share.

Has it been 2-3 months yet?

I just received a reply from ArmaLaser on a Body Guard 2.0 laser sight:

"We are being told hopefully within the next 2 months it should be available. We have added you to our list to be notified once the laser is available for purchase."

Reads like June or July. :(

I just received a reply to my inquiry to Crimson Trace:

"As of right now there is not much of an update. A laser for the Bodyguard 2.0 has been our most requested product over the last year and has been at the top of our product development teams list. Therefore, something is in the work, but I do not have any other information in regards to that. If you sign up for the Crimson Trace Newsletter, anytime we have sales or new products releasing, we will always send out an email going over those."

So.... good news.... and not so good news. Patience is a virtue. :)

How'd that Jun or July date work out for you? Almost a year now! I sold my BG2 after waiting a couple months for a laser. Nobody is rushing to build one...

I had a terrible experience with a brand new Armalaser trigger guard laser today which has really made me decide against getting one for my BG 2.0. Well, quite frankly, since purchasing new XS sights for the BG, I was pretty much leaning in that direction anyway.

Today I tried this newly installed laser out on my Keltec P32 (which is a fun little gun, btw), and the laser moved 6-12" in POI after practically every shot. Obviously something wrong with it, but just made me totally frustrated with it, considering it cost me $150, and was something I was really hoping to be able to rely on. I finally just turned it off and tried using the next-to-nothing iron sights on this little gun, and although I couldn't really see the sights, I actually did ok with the gun.

Anyway, this thread is about the Armalaser and BG 2.0, so I wish anyone good luck who is still hoping to get one of these for their guns. Hopefully that will happen soon, and you'll have much better luck with yours than I did with mine.

Hi Frank,

Yeah... lasers are not a really popular firearm option. I have 4 on 4 different firearms.
They make my range time so much fun. All of mine work amazingly well and are extremely accurate.
I use a laser sighter to get the laser really close, then finalize any adjustment at the range.
Several of my range buddies have them on their range toys, but none on their EDC.
I have found that the lasers on the paper targets have improved my grip and trigger control, especially longer than 4 yards.

Thanks for the response. I normally wouldn't want to depend on, or put my faith in something like a laser, but in my advanced age, it's very difficult for me to see iron sights with the naked eye, while my distance vision is perfect. So I have red/green dots on most of the guns I shoot with any regularity, but that's really not a great option for something as small and narrow as the Keltec P32 noted above or a BG2. When I carry IAWB, which isn't too often, it's usually with one of the following (Beretta 80X and Sig P365, respectively), but these days, I'd prefer a pocket gun.
