Gun show find

[Ten2six]

I found this gem at a rural Missouri gun show today, made the owner an offer and brought it home. I don't know a lot about these, I do know it's a Lew Horton PC gun and probably a 1998 early production run due to it having the plastic Doskocil case and low serial#. Regardless, I am happy with my first true PC gun.

That was a nice find plus you saved on misc fees and shipping.

Took me a long time to really commit to one and longer to find the one I wanted, (early first run LEW.) High condition w/all for a “low” price took some time. Luckily mine also really likes my 200gr SWC hard cast reloads.

Mine is just 7 under yours and shipped on the same day.

I know you will appreciate it and as was mentioned all the mags that came with it is a definite plus.

Congratulations on a very nice acquisition, I'm sure it won't be your last PC! I don't know where the transition from the Doskocil case to the aluminum cases occurred, mine is #0316 and came in the Doskocil.

Just wait till you find out they built the 945 in all shapes and sizes and different finishes. The 3.75” 945 is the best all around pistol Smith and Wesson ever made in my opinion. Accurate, lightweight, great ergonomics and easily concealed.

Took it out for a quick test run and all I can say is WOW! These are amazing. I have some pretty decent weapons in my collection, and I can say it is one of the best. Very well balance, ran flawless as expected. Did not disappoint.

945’s are phenomenal handguns. I will admit to loving the 845 Limited more, but 945’s are awfully close and 945’s are also more plentiful and a bit easier to track down.

Not to worry, I have the Smith big book. The 945 is pictured laying on the book open to the 945 section, so I am aware of all the options.

If you search online, you can find a video that Jerry Miculek made that praises the 945s, even demonstrates it's ability to feed empty cases.

You’re right! Pictures always make the discussion better. This is my absolute favorite pistol. It took me 2 years to find it!
