Lock up your women, pets and other barnyard amimals

I shall stay far, far away!
I got dinged one time for just mentioning one of Caj's floats in a post on this forum!

My Mom's family is from New Orleans . Her grandfather lived in the French Quarter . Mom grew up on Bayou St. John . Not the same place anymore . Have fun but I won't go anywhere near the place .

I'm worried for you, Caj. The OP is titled "Lock up your women, pets and other barnyard amimals"

Other? As in your women and pets are "other" barnyard animals????

Scary under all sorts of different interpretations! :D

Epilogue

Well, back hangover free and ready for Lent.
Got into the hotel pretty much hassel free. Went to the Casino and lost my donkey off. Meh...it happens.
Got to bed early around 11:00 Friday went walking around by myself in the early morning simply because I love watching the quarter wake up. Totally different vibe from the night before. Got some coffee and begniets at Cafe Du Mond before it got crowded. Wanted to grab a muffalatta from Central Grocery but they were not open yet. By around 9 the quarter was perking up pretty seriously do I made it back to the hotel. Got cleaned up put on my Krewe outfit (blazer, krewe tie)-stopped by Myer the Hatter to see if there was anything that I needed to buy in the way of a new Panama. Did a LOT of good people watching-as usual the crowd did not disappoint. Headed back around noon for the Krewe luncheon which as expected got pretty rowdy with around 800 participants. After the High Priest made his announcements, we swore in New Members and then heard a message from President Trump thanking the Krewe for it's valuable service. We toasted our veterans, charged our glasses and hit the quarter for a couple of hours of carousing before returning to get ready for the parade. The parade went well but started about an hour late. There is a strict no drinking rule for float riders imposed by the City. Due to the delay in starting the parade some of us started to sober up and the hangovers started to kick in. We began drinking again while waiting and that problem was fixed, however there was concern that the beer might not last until the end of the parade. The ride was great. Nobody threw up, tipped over the piss bucket or passed out. Stayed up in the hotel bar until midnight doing post mortems of the day and it was agreed that it was yet another successful event.
Saturday morning the wife and I checked out and forsook brunch at the Waffle House in favor of meeting our daughters and one boyfriend down deep in the lower quarter at a pretty funky place called "Who Dat Cafe" for brunch. Has a wonderful experience and was amazed that this neighborhood (The Bywater) existed. Charm out the wazoo and just very nice. Went back way to the interstate and was home taking the nap by 14:30. I'd post more, but our traditions are pretty raunchy and a description of them would earn me a ding, so we'll just leave it at that. I will say this: we were able to sneak in the Krewe mascot up to the hall through the service elevator this year and we almost got him out until he started bleating (G.O.A.T.). ;)
Look for another thread for a Karma.

That's right, its time for the Caje's annual Mardi Gras Bacchanal .
Will travel to New Orleans today, check into an unnamed French Quarter hotel, and proceed to terrorize the French Quarter for two nights. Thursday will include a round at the tables at the local casino. Friday will ride in Krewe D'Etat. Float # 20 sidewalk (passenger) side last man. Attractive ladies are encouraged to show their wares, unattractive ones are encouraged to be modest. If I see someone with a sign that reads CAJUNLAWYER I will shower the holder with all sorts of useless plastic beads and other assorted trinkets made in China pre tariff. One year our float mooned the mayor at Gallier Hall and we got a stern yelling at and put on double secret probation for a year. Our dancing troupe will lampoon P Diddy while handing out personal bottles of body lotion.
Should make for an interesting next two days.
Saturday I will sneak out of the city clothed in shame and regret, stop for a sumptuous brunch at the Boutte Waffle House and proceed through the swamps, cane fields Chilling out to channel 23 on Sirius ultimately winding up at the hacienda on da Bayou Teche.
Post Morten will be posted sometime later.
Prayers and bail money are urgently requested.

In other words, send lawyers, guns and money. Thanks to Warren Zevon

Meanwhile, NO starts cleaning up after Caj's departure...
