New Gun Day: 27-2

I finally acquired a 5" 27-2, one of my holy grails. I don't see any holster wear. Zero wear on the muzzle. Very clean. Lock-up is tight. No end shake. I didn't put a gauge on the trigger, but it is very light and super smooth… The best out of all my Smiths. I was told it wasn't shot very much, if at all. And by the looks of it, I believe it. Either way, I can't wait to see how it shoots.

You will really appreciate that revolver, smooth, accurate and reliable. My 5" 27-2 is my truck gun, don't ask for a round count...lost count long ago...it still is accurate, smooth and, 100% reliable. You did good buying that.

Just an observation, but the stocks are post 1968 and the box is pre-1965. What is the serial number on your gun?

My rough guess is that it's a mid-1970's gun.

I got one about a year ago in the same condition as the OP. It is a pride and joy piece for sure. I managed to get a new set of Keith Brown cokes for it

Congrats on a nice find. The 5-inchers have beautiful balance and feel just right - not too long and not too short.

The one 5-incher I have is nickeled - a bit of glitz never hurts.
