The problem with the 15-22 mags is that the rails that the follower assist button rides on are not even. The follower is not binding, but rather the assist button is binding. If you remove the assist button the binding disappears. As previously mentioned, you can see and feel the uneven rails about midway down the follower travel path.

Never owned a MP-22, but I've seen other 22 AR platforms where people installed a Better-Mag adapter just so they could use the S&W mags. Back then everyone seemed to think they were the best.

They were. Evidently something has changed recently. Maybe contracted to a new suppler?

Mine are all several years old, and other than a few that wore out the feed lips and one that came apart at the seams, they are good. I currently have 20 magazines.
