Hello everybody,

I'm new member and it's my first thread.
I hope i'm in the right section. If not, please be indulgent :).
So recently I boat a S&W 34-1 that is in good condition.
Please find here below some pictures.
I would like to know the year of production of this gun.
Thanks by advance for your answer.

Thanks Alan.
Yes I know how much Normandy is memorial region of France for many people in USA, and we remember why...
For French people, often Normandy that is a green region, means wind, rains and fog. Lies, or perhaps not...
I'm going to visite the S&W historical foundation and to request the metter form.

Thank you for wellcoming,

I wrote, in an other forum (in french language) for people passionate of Old West armes and replicas, about the story of USA and know that NY state was one of the first colonies that became the United States in 1776.
On next Monday I will shoot with this gun for the first time.
I have small hands, but I'm not sure that is an advantage.
I have a S&W .45 acp (model 22 of 1917) of which the original handle is rather small, that I have equipped with and ALAMONT grip that matchs beter with my hands.

What a beautiful little kit gun you have there! Looks much better than "good." :)

These little revolvers were a great delight to outdoorsmen of my generation ("baby boomers") - and they still are! Congratulations on acquiring what appears to be a very nice specimen. :)

Many Thanks

I think I made a good deal buying this small S&W.

I know that this model has been the companion of a lot of camper and nature lover since it birthes in 1958 (4 years after me...)

I usualy do not love speed dating... and prefere also wine (French one of course) but roses have to much spines for me, so I prefer Alstroemeria Alstroemeria Summer 'Sky' - Pheasant Acre Plants.

But here "dating" refers to the date, and not the one of the next rendez-vous ;)

You'll have to forgive our confusion. After all, it is spring, that magical time when a young man's fancy turns to love. Here in the US, the lady might receive flowers liberated from a recent burial plot, followed by a quiet dinner for 2 at the golden arches (if early in the relationship, it's best to let her super-size it). Lastly, a nice romantic walk down to the liquor store. I believe Velvet Jones said it best, if memory serves:
"She gazed up at me woozily, and I knew the $3 I had spent on wine had not gone to waste."

But I digress. If you call S&W they can give you the month and year shipped, probably some time in 1981. Mine is a round butt 2" one from 1968. The stocks are not serial numbered inside and have the post-1973ish stainless stock circles. The original stocks for mine would have had black oxide ones. If you remove the stocks you hopefully will find them correctly serialized to your gun.

Welcome to the Forum!
Todd

I forgive you all the more willingly because your humorous argument has completely convinced me, even though I am no longer a young man.

I will send an e-mail to S&W to know more about the date of production of my 34-1.

Many thanks for your welcoming.
