Added a couple Colts to the safe....

Surfing the net, I spotted what appeared to be a very clean Colt 1911
Govt. model in 45acp in a Cabela's in Minnesota.
Took a chance and bought it.
It was delivered yesterday to my local Cabela's.

While doing the paperwork.....( I have bought trucks faster)..I spotted the
Colt New Frontier. Strapped with the Elk bone grips (Ajax).
Did not have a Colt SSA in .44 special.....I do now.

Colt Govt.1911 70 series 1974 vintage.
Colt NF 1978/79.

I understand having a guy double check that everything was right, it's the triple and quadruple checks I don't get.

The most painful part for me, buying from Cabelas, was every one of the 3-4 checks of papers also included handling firearm and recking slide. My new to me then, model 52 and 39 received more slide racking wear than any other gun I own....

Nice. We don't have a local Cabela's but they're building a Bass Pro eventually.

I picked-up these over the past week.

New Series 70 Gov. and a used older model of the Combat Elite. I made a few mods to my liking. Once they lift our Stage 2 fire restrictions, I can finally get out and shoot.

Bought a 20 ga Model 1912 two yrs ago in Richmond and I thought that I was buying a new car. Pack a nice lunch if you plan on buying a firearm there.

I’ve done one transfer through my semi-local Bass Pro. I don’t plan on doing another. The free shipping was not worth the hassle.

I bought a 29-2 that was listed as like new. Included a presentation case, tool, and papers. They shipped it from a Cabelas on the East coast to the Bass Pro Shop in Independence, MO. When I bought it, I told them to not ship it in the the presentation case. That it would break the case. So, what did they do? It showed up in the presentation case. The liner was busted and both hinges were broke. And there was a ding that hadn't been visible in the pics. I told them that I didn't want it. They apologized, refunded my money, and gave me a gift card.

Nice that they gave you a gift card and refunded your money, really sad that they could not follow simple instructions and ended up destroying the presentation case.

I wish. But it's just some grips and an arched MSH I added that I thought would give it a classic GS look.
