Post your Culina grip photos here!

Please do!
WFevans4, as requested, Culina just informed me that my bubinga grips are finished and they are ready to ship. Here is the photo Jennifer sent me in the email. From what she described, what bubinga lacks in contrasting figure, it makes up for in a copper colored "chatoyance" or that irridescent shimmer some woods have when rotated in the light. The medallions shown are not the style they normally use; I got those on Ebay and sent to Culina. I will post more photos once I receive the set and install it on my 586.

Looking good!

Beautiful!!! I love cocobolo! An exceptional sample like that has unmatched rich colors and high contrast figure that most woods cannot equal IMO! I originally wanted cocobolo when I ordered mine but they said it would likely be a long wait before they could get some more decent cocobolo.

75Vette, I've either seen these before or some made similarly. Know what kind of wood that is? Awesome colors.
Yeshualsa53, those grips are definitely called their “Black Red Burl”, and obviously, all of that style grip will look different……no two alike.

Since genuine ivory is so difficult to acquire, I asked Culina to fashion some American Holly magna stocks to dress up my '70s-era 29-2. The result was well worth the 18-month wait. The Culina stocks are the most perfectly fitted of any maker I have owned.

Ok Wfevans, you requested pics & feedback from someone who has bubinga stocks from Culina. Mine just arrived this afternoon and I just finished installing them on my S&W 586.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! I'm blown away! First, the bubinga wood is unlike any I've ever seen from the standpoint of shimmer!!! The fit and finish of this set is impeccable! They fit so precisely on my gun! The finish quality is perfection! They feel great in the hand too, with the slight "Coke" palm swell and just the right thickness for comfort without being too bulky. Jennifer was also very helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. She kept me well informed of status along the way. I'm so thrilled by my first Culinas! I foresee there will be more of their grips in my future!

I admit I was initially apprehensive about choosing bubinga because I typically like lots of high contrast figure with rich colors, much like you see in woods like cocobolo, bocote, b&w ebony, kingwood, zebrawood, etc. In the photos, it didn't appear to me that bubinga offered that. Beautiful wood to be sure; it just didn't look like bubinga had the contrasting figure I was after. Little did I know it offered other "tricks up its sleeve!" Jennifer really praised "waterfall" bubinga for its crazy chatoyance (that irredescent quality in some woods that actually look like the wood is "moving" as you tilt it in the light). She was right! Pics simply cannot do these stocks justice, as you have to rotate them in the light, and preferably sunlight to see the amazingly deep, copper colored shimmering sparkle in this wood! It's absolutely beautiful! I had little exposure to bubinga before this. I'm so impressed! Again photos cannot do it justice, as this is one of those things you have to move around in the light to appreciate its unusual shimmery chatoyance!

Here it is:
