I usually refer to Wyoming as "Gods country"

It depends on the kind of hunting you're looking for but we have some of the best big game hunting in the country.

Gun laws are good and I like the fact that we are the least populated state in the country. The only down side is the winters are long, cold, and sometimes a lot of snow.

If you enjoy a similar climate, maybe warmer a bit, Kentucky, S. Ohio and S. Indiana all offer good gun rights and decent cost of living along with reasonably sane politics. Tennessee should also be under consideration, but it would seem costs are going up as blue-staters are moving in and doing their level best to make it like the places they moved from.

West by god Virginia. The most unobtrusive gun laws I know of. Even for non residents. Great hunting and wide open spaces. If you like warmth and fishing I’d say SW Florida coast. From Ft Myers to Everglade City.

Don't forget, In Wyoming the snow doesn.t melt it just blows around until it wears out!

The West Virginia-Kentucky-Southern Ohio Appalachian area has a lot going for it, and it is now becoming a refuge for those fleeing more expensive and more oppressive parts of the country. Moderate winters, cooler summers, low taxes, cheap(er) property, and lots of the great outdoors. Worth a look.

You forgot to mention the scarcity of trees and water and the constant winds. ;)

I love New Mexico, and left SW MO for this state in '80. It's changing here, like everywhere, but the climate and people are wonderful....employment not so much.
I have been to many Western states for work...New Mexico is the ONLY one I enjoyed and would go back in a heartbeat...friendly people. When I become King, we keep New Mexico but give everything else west of the Mississippi back to the Indians.

A few years ago, I would have said Colorado. The Communists have taken over now, So it’s not worthy of consideration any more, sad to say.
Definitely visited for my 18th birthday loved the mountains and the desert
