A Not So Garish Commemorative

Very nice find, and a great caliber. I assume that this will be a safe queen since it's in NIB condition. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it will appreciate much over time as is the case with most commemorative firearms. I'm not a collector and only have one commemorative...a 1973 Texas Ranger set (Model 19-3 and matching bowie knife). It's been shot but that's OK with me. It is probably one of the nicest Model 19s that S&W ever produced and it has some great features. Your Model 25-3 would probably be an excellent and fun shooter, but I can understand wanting to keep it pristine. Enjoy!

Very nice. Not much in the way of gawdy embellishments.

I like some of the commeratives. I don't really understand why they don't go up in value as much especially some that are made in small quantities.

Looks like a nice package.
I have a few knives and ammo boxes that are commemoratives, but I don't make a habit of buying them. A manufacturer's anniversary edition, however, might be an exception.
Lot's of shooters on this forum but, imo, any extra value or appreciation will be nullified if it's shot. The packaging is designed and intended for exhibition only.
I have shooters and others I just enjoy owning. I'd keep it just like it is. It'll go up in value.

I bought it with the intent to shoot but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Had it kind of stashed away forgotten, was doing more buying than shooting. I just hauled it out as part of my progressive move to OR, where I have more room (great being able to test fire in your back yard!) and am 10 minutes away from the gun club.

I'll work up some loads, am aware the 25-3 had some accuracy issues.
