Not a fail from Beretta's point of view. .40 S&W was the new hotness back then. The 96 magazines only held 11 rounds; the Cougar/PX4 .40 magazines hold 15.

It’s my third one. Mika isn’t a young man. When I picked that up I decided to buy an extra for the shelf. I’m not young either, so I feel pretty good about my inventory.
This week I’ve been carrying my 3953, last week it was a 3rd issue Colt DS.

Reminds me of a time when I'm about to frisk someone and showing a little humor I'd ask if they had any knives, guns, or hand grenades. The hand grenades always threw them off, just enough that I could quickly cuff them while they're distracted. At times I'd say while frisking, is that your rocks (crack), on the ground? Distraction was everything while you're trying to do the impossible. Survived it and still kickin!

I have been carrying my S&W Model 65-5 4" round butt and bobbed hammer. I am using Federal 38 Special +P 158gr LSWC for ammo. I carry two Safariland Comp II speed loaders.
