I just acquired a fantastic 29-5 Classic from GunBroker for a hell of a good price and after reading a few forum posts,I think it may have a unique serial number. Probably doesn't effect the value or anything,but just interesting so figured I'd say to see if anyone is interested similar boat or for those googling info in the future.
Anyway,it is a THA prefix gun. My 4th edition of the standard catalog only list that as a semi auto serial number, from either 1990 or 1991. Unfortunately I don't have the original box. On this forum I've found other users with TJA 29 Classics,with one lucky enough to have the original box that places it from Oct 1990. I'm thinking my gun might be one of the first made in 1990 then?
Unfortunately the historical group can't do letters for the triple alpha serial numbers, so I may never know for certain. In any event, I'll just enjoy my lovely new hand cannon.
