N-Frame Holster Find (Myres)
The seller of this holster didn't know much about it but stated she believed it was for a J-frame so I took a gamble and won the auction. I was hoping it would fit my 3" 36-1. So, it arrived today and after cleaning it up, I tried the J-frame and it was too loose. Ok, I'll try a K-frame- still too loose. Now I'm starting to worry, wondering if maybe the holster was made for a different gun make. Thinking the holster was too small for an N-frame, I try one anyway and bingo!, the fit is perfect. This works out great because I was looking for a good rig for my Highway Patrolman, too.

I got a handmade rig with floral designs for a 8 3/8" N frame in a trade a few days ago. It has 33 cartridge loops that are filled with .41 magnums, some silver tips, some not. It's a nice looking rig and I am thinking about finding a .41 mag with that barrel length. The guy who had it said he paid $400 for over 20 years ago. Hang on and I'll go get it out of the trunk of my car and see if I can find a maker on it somewhere...Well, there went that idea. This thing won't fit me, so scratch the idea of buying a gun to go with a nice holster. I'm a 44" waist and the belt won't quite buckle up. I'm guessing it's a 36 to a 40, maybe a 42. I can't find a maker stamp on it and the guy I got it from is from Penn. so I don't know who made it. It is nice though. I might put it in the classifieds when Jr. gets back from Louisville and can get some good pics for me.

Thanks. The holster being a plain model matches the 28 well, I agree. The stags and T-grip may be a bit fancy for a Highway Patrolman but they can be set aside for a future Model 27 once I find some factory magnas for the 28.
fat tom, that's a nice carved one you've found, too.

I have a black leather Myres 38/357 black leather six cartridge slide that looks like it fits up to 2 1/4 duty belt that I'm impressed with the quality of the leather, it's still very supple and all the loops are still very tight. No doubt DBs N frame holster is the same high quality leather and fit.
