Holster making supplies.
I know some on this forum make holsters for their own guns. I would like to try my hand at doing this. Besides Tandy Leather where can I buy tools and leather? I feel pretty sure a lot of holster makers don't buy their supplies at Tandys or am I wrong? Don

Tandy's is the place I go. Its quick and easy and the tools are of good quality. For further information on supplies try leatherworker.net. Interesting place with all kinds of good info.

Springfield leather has some neat products. A piece of horse butt at a reasonable price makes a couple of good holsters. Good service also. Leather is excellent quality.

I have 3 places I go to get leather supplies. Tandy, Leather unlimited and Crazy Crow. I make and sell custom holsters and sometimes I get a request for some beadwork or other decoration to "Indian it up."
For wet molded holsters I use a Blue gun. That way I don't worry about shoving a real gun into a hunk of wet leather. A real gun could be wrapped in a plastic bag but I'm more comfortable using a plastic replica when I can. For Those I go to Midway.
Leatherworker.net does have a lot of helpful info.

I have purchased a few tools and leather from Oregon Leather Company. It wasn't for holsters, it was for tack, but the store might be worth checking out.

I get most my stuff from the local Tandy store. I've gotten a few things from a small leather shop that's run by two brothers but they don't have near as much inventory as Tandy.

Also, I use utility scissors to cut my leather, an antler for hand boning and edge burnishing and I do my stitching with a stitching awl.

I got most of my gear from a saddle shop and a boot repair shop in a nearby town. Most of it is Tandy.

Nice holster, I've been thinking of getting into a little stamping.
