Mixon holsters?
I have a holster for a snub J-frame.38 that's marked Mixon as the maker. Not Nixon, but Mixon.
I actually called the company about 15 years ago, I think maybe in Florida, but the woman on the phone wouldn't tell me anything about them or send a catalog. Most curious...
I've not seen another. This one is good quality, much like a Gaylord in design. I bought it used in a gun store, and the store owner had also never heard of them.
I can't post pics, so will have to rely on someone knowing about the firm. ???

They are located in Hialeah,FL and are makers of police and duty gear. You can find them for sale on ebay if you're looking for another.

TS, I have a Mixon paddle holster for a 4" K frame that I use occasionally. It's the only Mixon that I've ran on to. I consider it to be of about the same quality of a Don Hume.

Interesting point. I agree and I found a photo of one that looks VERY like the Jordan holster by Hume and seems to be of that quality. It's basketweave stamped, like my Hume equivalent, and the stamping looks very similar.
But the Mixons seem rare. I've never seen the brand mentioned in any gun publications or on boards. I found the company's address and phone number, but no more. They sure don't market very enthusiastically...

Like fat tom said, Mixon leather shows up on eBay fairly often. One thing I've noticed is a lot of it seems to be located in Canada. They may have had supply contracts with LEO departments up there.
Edit: Forget that regarding Canada. I was thinking of Ted Bourdon leather. In any case, Mixon stuff isn't hard to find.

Thanks. I seldom look on e-bay. I'm reluctant to buy things that I can't personally handle first.
But sometimes, you have to, if something can't be found locally.

I don't think they're in biz anymore.
Here's mine on the bottom, I came with my Ruger Security Six along with a custom one for behind the back carry. I'm gonna have the custom one converted to a side rig. It's not a good way to carry a Ruger S.S. and almost too dangerous to re-holster.
The Mixon is sturdy as it should be.

Sheriff Jim Wilson (a gun writer and retired sheriff) and I were talking one day about a fictional Texas sheriff who wears his gun on the back of his belt, like TV detective Mannix did. Wilson observed that if you get in a fight and get knocked down on your back, that's an excellent way to acquire a spinal injury. I'm sure he's correct. It's not a theory that I'd care to test.

Maybe we should start a data base about these Mixon holsters.
Mine is stamped on the back,
MIXSON_______
LEATHERCRAFT
S 34
It fits the Ruger Security Six 4".
