I have been researching the net for a holster for the Model 19 snub, and now I have a headache. So much to sort out, and still not sure how any of them would work out for real. For other guns, I already have a box of holsters that did not seem to work out very well. I don't need to add to the collection.
I would like a decent leather belt holster without a thumb break. Something that rides high and tight, probably a pancake type. If possible, I want to stay under $75.00.
Does anyone have some words of wisdom to help me zero in on a few?

When I carry my 19 2.5" it is almost always in a Bianchi 9R shoulder rig. They can also be used as an OWB. I have also carried the gun in a pancake with excellent results.

Well, I don't know how much wisdom will be in my words, but here goes.

For a revolver that small, I don't think you could go wrong with a Threepersons holster from El Paso Saddlery. The basic holster with no border stamping or decoration will run you $82. It's lined, and you can get it with either a hammer loop or a retention strap. I'd go with the hammer loop, simply because the retention strap's a bit too long for my tastes, but that's just me.

You can order one to fit on a 1.75-inch belt, a 1.50-inch belt, a 2-inch belt, or a 2.25-inch belt. The 2.25-inch is standard. You can get a bit of a forward cant, or no cant at all.

I have several of their holsters and a couple of their belts on order now. Can't wait to get 'em.

Here's a small photo of the holster I'm talking about for your gun. You can even get it crossdraw if you wish. Photograph is courtesy of and copyright by El Paso Saddlery.

I recently received a holster for my M 19-4 2.5" from Lobogunleather. It is the Enhanced Pancake model and in your price range. It fits snug, high, and tight and is very high quality. Can't do much better. The M 19 in the photo is a decidedly carry a lot, shoot a lot six shooter. I got this one to save the one in the safe. :)

He makes each holster to order and it takes a few weeks. Well worth the wait. I also have the box o' unwanted holsters. There's no Lobo's in it.

Check Lightning Arms Sports. (Sorry, I don't know how to post a link). You'll find them with a google search.

Call them and ask what they have that will work for you. They carry only first rate, so if you want something cheap, look elsewhere.

Lobo is good gear at a reasonable price, have several of his rigs. Try his pancake model, I have several of those for different weapons. They work as advertised and as desired.

That holster doesn't look like it rides high and tight like the OP wants. For high and tight you really need a pancake or similar with dual loops to secure it up and in.

Problem solved! Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake. Get the optional "Inside Out" straps.

May I suggest a DeSantis scabbard. They ride high and tight to the body. The two belt loops provide great support. You can pick up a used one online for under $30. I have them for my 2.5 and 3" K frames. The one shown below has been used almost daily for 30 years. It could use a little polish, but the stitching is still tight.

If you want high and tight, you might look for one of these. Ebay would be your best bet. I'm pretty sure that this is the right one for the 19 snub. I have several of these in different sizes and by different makers and my memory ain't what it used to be. If it interests you,I'll look for it in my stash and confirm the size for you.

I like the DeSantis holsters as well, own two of them. This is not a quick-draw rig by any means.

This Galco holster for a 4" K frame is similar to the DeSantis in design.

Lobo Improved Pancake....I have used mine for several years. I also have a box of leather that is not used anymore, because, of the the afore mentioned holster

I have a Simply Rugged for my 2 1/2" M66 for OWB carry. I really like it and it's easy to conceal under an untucked shirt. So, +1 for Simply Rugged.

I suggest you look at the Galco "Combat Master". I have one and it holds my 66-1 2.5" just perfect. High and tight and yet flat against the body. For a commercial grade off the rack and no waiting, this is a darn good holster.
ColbyBruce shows the holster for a 4" bbl. in a earlier post, so just picture a smaller version for your snubby.

+1 for Simply Rugged. Very versatile holster. Like mine.
