I second the ankle glove. You can normally find them online or in most places that sell Galco products.

I don't have experience with the Galco product but the renegade ankle holster is excellent too.

They may be out of production but the ankle holster I've used for close to a decade for my M49 is the Renegade Cozy Partner. Stays put, easy draw, secure and man is it comfortable.

I have had 2 ankle holsters for J-frame revolvers. The first was an Ankle glove by Galco I bought used for a few $. My brother borrowed it for his model 37. Since I never saw or heard about it again, I bought my second J-frame ankle holster. A Galco Ankle Glove, new and at full price. I can't imagine and other on my ankle with my 49 or 36 in it. Ivan

I wear boots most times, so I don't wear one often.
If I do it is on long driving trips as a BUG.
Access is great while seated.
An old Bianchi Sheep lined rig for my 36 , which will not work with my 640.
FYI another of my favorites is the Bianchi 9R shoulder rig or Milt Sparks VMII.
Options are good and I see some good suggestions posted here already.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Several (15+) years ago I purchased a Lou Alessi ankle holster for my Glock 26. That holster is still being carried by a friend of mine who I let have it when I moved to a 642 as a back up. You can hardly notice you are wearing the holster.
I am still in possession of the Alessi ankle holster that I purchased for the 642. While I do not use it any longer it is still in excellent shape and I have never had an issue with retention or quality of this holster. Mr. Alessi has since passed away (I called and spoke to him directly when I ordered each) but it is my understanding the company is still in existence. While I cannot speak for today's product I can say that both rigs that I have owned and used from him have been top notch.
Also keep in mind when you order an ankle holster what type of footwear you are using. There is a difference in how they may work between wearing over a sock and over a boot.

I wore a Renegade almost daily for several years when I was a cop. Highly recommend this product.
When choosing an ankle holster, security becomes of utmost importance...one should be able to run, jump, etc while confidently retaining one's gun. This is especially true when it is for a backup gun. The Renegade? Very secure.
Coming next is comfort. The ankle is a bit sensitive so one needs something that does the job without cutting off circulation or moving about too much. Rengade? Check.
Less important is "speed", yet the Renegade has this too.

Crossbreed offers an interesting ankle holster. If you're military, law enforcement, retired or NRA member, they give a discount too.
