Mag Pouch- What do you like?
My trusty mag pouch is no longer trusty:
Apparently it has had enough of me and decided not to carry my mag any more. So, I need a replacement.
What do you guys like? I'm open to anything.

Caveat: It's been a while since I've had a semi-auto, so take my opinion for what it's worth.
I like the OWB leather pouches with either snap-on belt loops or a "pancake"-type belt slot construction. I've had a little experience with the snap-on ones.
I tried an IWB mag pouch once. Didn't like it.
The only other pouches I've tried were the ones with the tunnel loop behind the pouch. They work ok but I think either of the ones I mentioned above would pull the mag closer to the body.

I don't like stuff hanging off my belt so I use the SnagMag for my Shield 40 spare mag. Looks just like a knife clipped to your pocket.

I like the leather pancake style or if money's tight the Fobus paddle mag carriers aren't to bad. (I'm not a fan of the holsters though.)

Safariland makes a horizontal mag-pouch with a wrap around velcro fastener.. lays on top of your belt.. been using them for years with IWB holsters for Concealed carry...
Model 123 Horizontal Magazine Pouch.....$18
easy on/off ..... don't stick you in the ribs....doesn't look like a magazine

These things are just subject to wear. I have had snaps come off the snap-on ones after years of use, and can see how the fold over is a stress point in kydex models.
I like the Safariland 123 mentioned above. It rides in the horizontal position, and is unobtrusive. I have never had one malfunction.

Should have mentioned; I've been using these for at least 15, maybe 20, years.... never an issue.

If you like plastic try VictorSmalls Holster Works.

David has made some holsters and mag pouches for me and it's excellent quality.
If you like leather try Jason Winnie.

If you want to stay with kydex for all weather use and prefer OWB with an untucked shirt, the kytexgear.com are worth considering. They are easy to put on and take off.
A nylon knife case with a belt loop and velcro flap is another OWB type I like to use. Some of the ones made in china are very cheap... The ones made by the US company rainbowofcalifornia.com have some very sturdy examples and if you have an rei outlet store nearby they usually carry them in store so you can check them out in person.
Lastly I like the Desantis Mag Packers to use for pocket carry. They hold the magazine in the proper position and get out of the way when you retrieve the mag.

Thanks for the help people.
Checked out the kytex people and they have an interesting pouch. For $18 I might just give them a try. I do have one on order from Overwatch, but you can never have too many mag pouches.

I know it's old school but I found an El Paso Saddlery double mag holder in .45 in the used bin at my LGS with screw tensioner. It fits my 1.75 inch belt. If I need another I will buy El Paso Saddlery. One of my best ever finds in the used bin!
