Old Holster Parts
After searching in vain, I have to ask... "Where can I find a thumb break inside plastic snap washer?"
Holster: 1986 Safariland #530 Spring LH. Originally bought for my S&W #686 4", but also fits my new S&W #627PC 2.62"
This has not failed me yet, but looking to fix now, before it fails. Snap is fine, just need the inside plastic washer or its equivalent.
Thanks...

That particular part is purpose-moulded for Safariland. Contact them.
Plastics are notoriously hard to glue when under pressure like that.

Yeah, I have already contacted Safariland and they could only tell me that it was an old holster and to send it in for them to look at and see what they could/if they could do anything. They said they would send it back if they couldn't fix it. (Doah!)
What I don't understand is why a digital image would not do the very same thing, and that is show them exactly the part I am talking about. Frustrating to say the least...
RE-problem gluing plastics... Thinking about using a dab of E6000 silicon adhesive to hold it in place, though that would end the adjust-ability function. As I mentioned in my OP, this holster fits BOTH my L-Frame 686 and my N-Frame 627PC, but it requires adjusting the thumb break snap.
Thanks for the feedback.

I would bet they might have a few misc. ones laying around in a draw somewhere, but they probably don't want to put the effort into looking for it until you have actually sent in the holster. Just a guess.......

Once they get it one of their repair guys might have a better way to fix it, but without it there, well you know.............

E6000 Adhesive Works on Plastic Washer
Well, I went ahead and tried a dab of E6000 adhesive about a week ago. This morning I loosened the adjuster screw and slipped my pocket knife blade under the snap washer and carefully pried the washer away from the leather. It wanted to stick, but I eventually got the washer free of the breaksnap track. Took the snap completely off and was able to scrape away extra adhesive without re-breaking the plastic washer.
Bottom line, my old 1986 Safariland #530 holster will again function with both my 686 and my 627PC. This may end up being a moot point when it comes to CC though. I have a Bianchi X15 for my 4" 686, and I have a dedicated "Uncle Mikes" for the 627PC. Both are shoulder rigs for CC and make CC-ing these big guns a piece of cake.
FWIW, these two revolvers almost weigh exactly the same when loaded with 158gr XTP JHPs: - 4" 686 6-shot = 43.0oz
- 2.62" 627PC x8 = 42.4oz
