Mitch Rosen El Raton
Does anyone have any first-hand experience with the Mitch Rosen El Raton pocket holster? I'm looking for a less bulky pocket holster than my DeSantis Nemisis. My EDC is a 2" M-36. I take it that this is part of Rosen's Express Line of less expensive models. Thanks in advance.

Don't know about the Rosen, but I frequently carry a Model 37 in a Mika pocket holster,as do MANY others here. Downright cheap compared to Rosen,or any other custom maker as far as that goes, and completely functional. Won't cost you an arm and a leg to decide whether you like it or not. If not,you can re-sell it here on the forum in short order. Just sayin'.

I've got a Don Hume Model 001leather pocket holster that I got on Amazon. Was quite cheap ( $35 if I remember right ) and does it's job quite well. it's thin leather, but not cheap. Very slim in the pocket. Keep in mind the shape of the pocket you want the holster to fit when you order, but take a look at them.

I haven't used the El Raton, but my Rosen Express 5JR is the best made, most comfortable holster I have owned - and I've owned Galco, Milt Sparks, DeSantis, Kirkpatrick, Sidearmor, etc....the 5JR has made me a Rosen convert for life.

I had one and while it was very high quality and well made I did not like the feeling of stiff leather in my pocket so I quickly sold it.
The DeSantis Nemesis is in my opinion the BEST pocket holster money can buy! I believe they are now about $23 bucks and will last for years. The most important thing is that it is "sticky" inside your pocket and will stay there when Rosko is pulled. It is also extremely light weight and durable. For pocket carry it is "The Nutz"!

Before I spent that much money on a pocket holster, I'd take a look at these sold by "Simply Rugged." Much less bulk, still hides the outline of the pistol in the pocket. Cheaper, too, but well worth the money.

The Galco is a lot thinner than the Nemesis and works well. I have both and prefer the Galco over the Nemesis, and I think they're only about $35. I have also wondered about the Rosen but it's too expensive to try.

Goblin,
The Galco is Leather and while I am usually a 100% Leather guy, I make an exception for Pocket Holsters. I MUCH prefer the non-leather sticky material that the Nemesis is made out of. Leather absorbs too much sweat and will transfer it onto the gun. The DeSantis Nemesis will not allow sweat to penetrate. YMMV - just my personal preference.
