Default J Frame cross draw holster

I am looking for a good quality, leather cross draw holster, for a S&W J Frame
Mod. 38, or 40. I'v spent most of an afternoon trying to find out something on cross draw holsters, specifically for a straight cross draw holster, not a many position model, I don't like one sized models, that have multi slots, loops, and cuts, that come close to fitting many models, but, fit none exactly. I have not found anything suitable yet. A nice, under a shirt, cross draw holster seems to me to be a great way to carry concealed. Anyone else think along those lines? If so, I would like to hear your ideas. Thanks.

Have you checked out Side Guard Holsters? I have an IWB Quick Clip that works great for my 642. I don't have any experience with their cross draw holsters, but I know they make a couple of cross draw models that might suit your needs.

You'll probably have to seek out one of the smaller holster shops. A quick Google search turned up numerous options for quality j-frame cross draw holsters, the few I looked at were not inexpensive...

You might look at Kramer Holsters, Ken Null Holsters, Mitch Rosen Holsters or Bell Charter Oak Holsters.

They all have nice looking quality cross draw holsters but you will pay for quality.

Chubbo there is a vintage B32-11 Bucheimer Sheriff on ebay auction.
Ends Tuesday 5PM. There is a Bucheimer Fit Chart on this forum, but
I know the size 11 fits J frame. I have one and like it. It is a cross
draw with a spring for tension.

Kramer Horsehide Cross-draw. IMHO "the best I have found to date".

Also, to expand your search, look for strong side "rear cant" holsters. I own several, and simply wear them on my cross draw side

Default Found One?

Hi, All:
While digging around in my holsters I came across a Brand new Bianchi #55L "Lightning" S&W Chief Holster. Knew I had it, Didn't know It was almost straight cant. It fits all my J Frame Mods, including my 2" Mod. 34 Kit Gun. Here I was allmost set, and didn't Know It. The reason that I was looking at it at all, was that I hated that It wasn't a cross draw so that I could use it, as I liked the looks and design of it, when I noticed the cant of it, and found that although it's not reversed, as I would prefer, it is almost straight cant, and caould be used as a cross draw. It's worth a try. Don't know if Bianchi ever made one in reversed cant, anyone Know?

I have a Milt Sparks PMK. It has a straight drop and works well with cross draw. I wear it both ways.

This is a Galco I found at a gun show. It carries the revolver almost horizontal. I had the retaining strap taken off; not sure that was a good idea. I don't know whether Galco still makes this model.

Default cross draw

I have found this nice little Barsony fits the bill. It rides nice and high on the hip, and snug with no cant (straight vertical) so I can wear it strong side or cross draw when driving. Darn nice and economical holsters

Would it be possible to see this on your person in the cross draw fashion?

Ken Null of Resaca, Georgia makes an excellent J frame cross-draw holster for the J frame.
