I am in the process of listing, and trying to determine current prices on my leather gear, so as to make it a little easier for my Son to sell my stuff, when I kick the bucket. My Son has set up a spread sheet for me, with categories for Slings, Belts, and Holsters. I am realizing just ignorant I have become in my 86 years. One of my cartridge belts was made by the Idaho Leather Co. Boise, Idaho. The Belt, is marked 16-40-45 is a 25 .45 cal. cartridge loop, 2 1/4" heavy Russet, basketweave leather is in new, Unused condition, I can't find anything on the Company, I don't know if it's an old, Co. now out of business, or one still in business. Can anyone help me with this Info? I should have kept better records. I don't know If I'll ever get through this project. Thanks.

Royal Eubanks started Eubanks Leather in 1939. He sold to Pioneer
Tent & Awning in 1949 with a 5 year non-compete agreement. After
expiration of the non-compete Eubanks went back in business as
Idaho Leather. Not long after, he passed away and his widow sold
to a family friend, Bud Wetzel. Idaho Leather was ran by Bud, and
then his Son Ben from 1954 until this past December when Ben
passed away. The business is no more.

Idaho leather Belt

Thanks for the information on the Idaho Leather Co. I'll just have to guess on the value of my cartridge belt, or let my Son worry about it later. I do appreciate your kind help on this matter. I'll post a picture, and maybe someone can help with it's value.

I'm guessing the size is 40? (Measure from the buckle to the center hole).
If someone has or just obtained a nice Idaho Leather holster it might go
up to a $100 bucks. An auction would probably get you between 50 and
100. Just my guess.

Phil nailed it; no surprise there

. He's our (the Forum's) Idaho Leather expert and no stranger to auction prices, too. Perhaps mostly to the point of the OP's query, Idaho is not yet "collectible" in the class of its contemporaries, e.g., Heiser, Myres, Lawrence, Bohlin, even Bianchi (how the bloody hell did we at Bianchi become collectible vintage holsters; wasn't it just yesterday?).

I agree that they have not become collectible quite yet,but I added this one to MY collection nevertheless. It's for a 4" N-frame with adjustable sights and I just don't see many of those by the older makers for sale.

That is a beautiful holster and you got a good deal fat tom. You are
just lucky that I was asleep at the switch. I intended to bid on it,
but had a lapse of good sense.

Regarding cartridge belts, the ones that bring a good buck are sized to fit the guys who can afford them-prosperous, well fed guys. I am least well fed. Yours is a popular caliber, a good size and in excellent condition and Phil nailed the value in my opinion.
