Hello, everyone. I've been carrying a Smith & Wesson 1006 on and off for about a year now. I currently only have two holsters for it. A Bianchi Model 105 Minimalist, and a Safariland Model 58. I can't even carry the gun in the Model 58 with the Hogue rubber grips I like, because the holster tears up the rubber. And I don't like carrying the gun in the Bianchi because the slide and crown of the barrel are both exposed, meaning the slide is abraded by my jeans, and the barrel is open for debris to ingress. I don't mind an open-bottom holster, but I am looking for a holster that at least covers the slide. I'd like it to either be a pancake or paddle style holster, and either open-top or thumbbreak design. I prefer leather to anything else, but kydex is also acceptable. I don't prefer nylon, since it seems to be the most problematic. And I don't want to buy a custom leather holster that's overly expensive, but if I have to settle for that, I can. Ideas, anyone?

I love real leather also. There is a 4 drawer file cabinet in my office with nothing but leather in it. One day I need to sell some holsters off.

Unfortunately I do not have any spares for the 1006

However, just about every manufacturer used to make holsters for the 4506/1006

I would give some a call on the phone. Just because they no longer list it on the website as an option does not mean they will not make you one. They probably all have the patterns still on file

When it comes to odd requests, I have had great luck with Galco over the years and it sounds like their Combat Master would fill the bill for you

The other thing you could do is go looking in old gun shops. Many of them have old leather hanging on the wall and are wiling to part with it at a discount. When I was working in Dallas County There were plenty of those kinds of places to scrounge through

Thanks, friend! The Galco Combat Master was exactly what I'm looking for. I've carried a Glock 17 in one of those for quite some time, and it's my favorite design. So I'm able to just give them a call and ask for a custom holster?

The 1006 and the Beretta M92 are identical holsters except for the moulding itself; so a holster that is not fully moulded to the one will suit the other (even the safeties are in the same spot and operated identically; mag button; distance of the muzzle from the trigger guard; everything).

GALCO has a custom division, they made my FastDraw rig. You do not want to go that route $$$

This is not a custom holster. It is a production holster that they do not have on the shelf for your firearm

It has been done before. It was years ago, and the discontinued gun they were doing it for had been discontinued for less years than the 4506, but as long as they still have the model there is no technological reason this can not be done.

If you don't ask, you will never know

You will have to wait for it to get in the production schedule

Another source may be lobogunleathers.com. Check out their website and you may be able to give them a call. They do good work at a good price. The turn around time is pretty good also. Good people.

I had Kramer make me a nice belt scabbard for my 4506. Nothing else seemed to be available to fit the square triggerguard of the no- dash.
