It just doesn’t get much simpler than this. Light, sturdy, secure, and reasonably priced. This model is often available for guns that are out of production, such as my Sig SP2340 .40 S&W I bought back in January. I have several of these holsters for various pistols. I was fortunate to find this JIT yesterday for $15.00 on a local forum.

I'm with you. Doesn't project lower than the muzzle.
I have one that does all of my Brownings and 1911s.
Another takes care of any of my Smith 9s (3914, 39-2, 915, etc.)
One more for several J-frames.
I save room that way.

Do you use it to carry concealed?

I like the design but I have found that they print like crazy. I get much better concealment with a pancake holster.

I love the JIT for guns with sloping front sights like most S&W revolvers, but if there is not much slope the sight can hit the front edge of the holster and hang up on the draw.

Mostly I use this type for carrying pistols around the mountain house or hiking. It conceals well enough for that. I only had a factory polymer holster for my Sig SP2340, which does hang way off the body.

I also like the JIT design for small autos, short J and K frames.
Do not use them for anything longer, as I have a dislike for barrels/slides protruding all that much.

If this design was ever made for the S&W 422/622/2206 series of pistols I totally missed it. This would of been a great way to tote those guns.

Unload the gun and holster it. Sit down in your vehicle, and the various chairs, lounges, lazyboys, etc around your house. If the muzzle doesn't impact anything...shoving the gun UP and out of the rig....ok. Then, if works for you. They simply don't work for me.

I have found that my 422/622/2206 size S&W autos with 4" barrels work well in holsters made for S&W 39/59 holsters. I found that the JIT slides do not print as much if you thread your belt over the holster and pistol.
