Galco Paddle Lite
Here is a neat, economically priced, paddle holster; the Galco Paddle Lite. Very comfortable, and a universal fit for several "J frame size" revolvers.

So we're collectively letting Galco ignore the 'a good holster permits a full grasp of the pistol' rule? Which applies (applied?) before any release is operated and the draw is begun. Next thing you know, unthinking folks will think it's OK to carry a striker pistol to muzzle their thighs (and other important bits).

Only if intended for a Centennial or Bodyguard "hammer-less" revolver.
Just guessing. Clearly, the strap is not optimal on the pictured revolver.

Many holsters such as this ( as well as nearly all pocket and "flap" holsters) are not intended to be used by Buckaroos in "fast draw" contests.

Not my rule :-). And no buckaroos involved, either. The 'full grasp' notion is to prevent fumbling during the draw that can lead to an a/d at worst and dropping the pistol; and having to reposition the pistol in the hand after the draw. Long standing practice, and well documented (i.e., in the writings of real gunmen), that the pistol come out of the holster well and truly in its shooting position.
I certainly agree that his particular holster was created for hammerless J frames; which explains it, but doesn't excuse it. We designers are charged with the safety of the holster/pistol interface; i.e., 'first, do no harm'.

I too thought that Paddle Lite was made for shrouded and concealed hammer 2" J-frames. But in which case surely the version made for 3" J-frames would have the retention strap in the typical location behind the hammer spur. Nope.
This one was at close out price a few weeks ago. I want to like it but can't. If I could relocate the strap, the model 36-1 still would have front-rear movement in the holster. So the revolver is loose and the paddle is OK but not great for my lack of butt if I want at 3 or 3:30. Obviously for others it fits them better.

Same holster with a hammerless (model 42) shows the location of the retension strap is correct, but the fit is not. Might be OK with a Magnum J but not with any that have the same size as an older 36, 40, 42, centennial, etc. Exception might be a shrouded hammer J?
