As a teenager in the 1950s I would spend more than a little time looking at the STOEGER Shooter's Bibles that my friend's father owned and then as I got older I purchased a new one every year. I especially loved the George Lawrence Holster section. Over the years I would pick up used Holsters that I needed and a Longhand "Lawrence" on the stamp on the back of the holster held a warm place in my heart. I never ordered a new Lawrence Holster but Oregon is 3000 miles away and not stocked new in any of the local gun shops I did business with. The few Lawrence holsters that I owned all had the 4 line stamp. THE GEORGE (longhand) LAWRENCE bottom of L CO. PORTLAND, OREGON I just received a package from my good friend Tom with 7 George Lawrence holsters. 5 were Challenger models which I did not have an example of. 3 had the familiar 4 line stamp but the other 2 had a 3 line stamp CHALLENGER GEO. LAWRENCE CO. PORTLAND, ORE. with much smaller letters

Many years ago I almost bought a like new George Lawrence model 100 Quick Draw Flap Holster but it was for a 6 1/2" N Frame S&W but I only had a 4" S&W and I really considered buying it and cutting it down like above but I could not bring myself to do that to such a wonderful holster.
The Model 100 Quick Draw Flap Holster was in Every Lawrence Holster ad I saw said FOR REVOLVERS ONLY. Well at some time they made at least one exception.

The pistol is a S&W model 41 22LR with a 5 1/2" heavy barrel.

I have one for a Colt E/I 6" that's for my prewar OMT, but it's almost too pretty for it. There are plenty of Colts that size (some newfangled snake guns too I hear) so I'll keep it around for a while.

I trimmed my holster herd quite a bit last year, but I managed to hang on
to a few Lawrences. Here they are left to right:

Model 27 with my Model 19
Model 34B with my Model 19
Model 34V "Special Agent" with my 2" Model 10
Model 120B "Keith" with my SAA 7.5" replica.
Model 120 "Keith" with my SAA 4.75 replica. I put the silver arrowhead
on it to cover a blem.

Many years ago, when I was a kid, I bought a pretty bad off pellet pistol at a garage sale. It came with a beat-up holster. I think I paid $5 for the whole shebang. The holster was a Lawrence. Of course, I was a kid and didn't know anything about anything. I eventually cut up the holster to use the leather for a project. Lost the pellet pistol too.

I had a Lawrence #7 for a 5 inch N frame. Also a 120 for my Frontier Scout 22lr. Great holsters. I wish they were still in business. A.E. Nelson makes some similar designs.

What is a 745 Holster

Trying to identify my holster. George Lawrence 79D 745
Any help is appreciated.

79 is the Gunslinger II model. The price list in the 1965 Shooters Bible shows only a no-letter plain version and a B basketweave, both available in black, but no D. The size chart does not go into the 700 range, so it appears to be from after that date.

In 60s I bought Gun Slinger #79 for Ruger SBH and Single-6, also a #120 for Ruger Blackhawk 45/8” 357. Ordered them through gunsmith. I remember they came in a bag of green juice, leather food.

745 is the size code for a Colt Python or King Cobra with an 8” barrel.
As stated above, Lawrence holsters typically had a model number followed by letters indicating options and after 1963 a 3 digit size code.
