Default Good Holster Cheap

I ordered one of these and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality. Had a sticker on it that said Made in South Africa. Such a deal for $30.00.
Fit my 5" fixed sight N frame perfectly. Dont think adjustable sight guns will fit without modifying.

We just got through watching the HBO miniseries "The Pacific". Sledgehammer carried a 1917 that his father gave him before going into the USMC. The holster he used was very similar.

These are similar holsters usually listed on eBay, and are available in both left- and right-handed versions, but I think all of the U. S. military originals were intended to be worn cavalry style, on the right side, butt forward. Some years back, I bought two (LH and RH) holsters for my M1917s from International Military Antiques for (as I remember) $35 each. IMA carries quite an inventory of replica military holsters. Both had outstanding workmanship and heavy leather. I oiled both with neatsfoot oil. I had heard that the IMA holsters came from India, but no way to tell as there are no markings indicating their origin on mine.

Original U. S. holsters in reasonable condition are quite expensive.

This is a replica of the M1942 holster for 1917 revolvers, which were intended for regular carry (right hip, butt rearward).
