This one is on the way to Ohio. Double welt that is 4 layers at the top and tripled at the toe. I pretty much now apply the "Brill" wide toe to most holsters because I feel it limits pressure on that area to push the gun upward and minimizes muzzle blue wear, and it just looks classy. Safety strap rivet and internal snap is put in hollow areas of the holster to avoid contact with the gun, but I also countersink those two small metal parts just in case.

Great work, WB! I hope you didn't have to sew that gem by hand! We need a side view to see the welt.

I don't have one of this holster's welt, but here's a couple others. These are only 2 layers of welt with a 3rd tapered layer at the toe. And yes, hand stitching through six layers of leather isn't easy but that's what the last one was. I think the 2 extra layers might not have been needed for it.
And Ruger 1,3, I don't line them except sometimes the half lining like "Brill" holsters have.

Great work on the basket weave and the stitching. I too do all mine hand stitched. From the picture, it looks like you used an awl for the stitching. I just saddle stitch with 2 needed.

You can be proud to wear that holster. If it's for a customer I'm sure they will be happy.

Looks like a pretty good replica of the Lawrence 120 Keith.
Here, on the left, is my Lawrence 120 Keith.
2nd from left, is another pretty good replica by Henry Cassady.

The buyer sent me a picture of a holster that looks just like yours but it was lined and asked me to make one in that style. I just took the pattern for the Super Blackhawk holster I made above and shortened and slightly modified it to the .357 Blackhawk. In pictures of Keith and Skelton's old Lawrence holsters for SAs they weren't cut down in front of the hammer like ours are, as I recall. I think the rear sight is covered on their's which I didn't want to do.
