I just took a look at Mr. Null's new website and it appears the only shoulder rig listed is the SMZ.

I purchased an SMZ from him several years ago and have been teetering back and forth about ordering a City Slicker and it appears I may have missed the boat.

Sent him an email to inquire and will keep my fingers crossed.

Guess you snooze you loose.

Last I knew Mr Null indicated he wanted to reduce the leatherwork. I believe he is in advanced age. I defer him to set the priorities.

If I recall correctly, Mr. Null worked for Paris Theodore as a holstermaker in the Seventrees leather shop. After Theodore exited the holster business, Mr. Null bought the business, including the designs and patents. I think this occurred in the early 1970s. Subsequently, Mr. Null continued to produce designs of both Seventrees origin and his own.

I am fortunate to have a few examples of his leather work, in his chosen media which was/is shell cordovan horsehide. I think it correct that he is in his early to mid 80s. I guess it is not a surprise, if it is true, that he has chosen to reduce his workload.

I do treasure my examples of his work, including a pancake style Gibraltar Speed Scabbard, a UNS, an unnamed folded pocket scabbard, and a couple more. Regarding OWB wheelgun holsters, I appreciated his use of “pull-through-snaps”. I do not know who originated the concept, perhaps Gaylord. Alessi and DeSantis certainly offered them early on. Mr. Null offered to make them them, continually.

His website is down. I can only think that his fine holster work is no longer available. I view it as a great loss to those of us who appreciate such.

Having been a proponent of Ken's holsters for many years, both while a LEO carrying daily and since my retirement, still carrying most days, I was stunned to think he may have retired. I have his email address and I sent him an email to find out if he was retired or not. I will let all who are interested know, if he replies, by posting it here. Heres hoping I hear from him. I have 6 or 8 of his holsters and a couple of his belts.
I would miss him if he's left us.

The email that I sent to Ken Null was returned as the email address that was on his old website is no longer any good. Apparently, he has closed down, retired or worse. I will try to call him by phone tomorrow and see if there is any update that can be added.

I just received an email back from Brenda Null who advised they are no longer offering the SKR holster.

Their website, when I looked at it, had just been redone. It just cut down on some of the offerings.

I DON'T BELIEVE THEY ARE OUT OF BUSINESS.

I never thought that for a minute when I posted. Just noted they no longer had that holster offered.

326MOD10,
If you get a chance to purchase one of Ken’s City Slicker holsters do buy it! I have had one for several years and use it frequently with a Mod. 642 no dash. Very light, very secure and extremely comfortable. If I remember correctly I bought mine pre-owned from flintsghost.

I just had Mr. Null complete a pocket holster for my newly acquired Guardian 380 - as usual, masterful work and I will enjoy it for many years to come.

I have had several of Ken Null's holsters. My very favorite one is his RSS
Revolver Super Speed, shown below on the left.

I believe Seventrees started the pull-thru era. I have the Scorpion shown
below 2nd from left. The snap didn't work, so I sent it to Ken and he
replaced the snap and it works fine now. All he asked for was shipping.

Another of Ken's that I like a lot, with the pull-thru snap, is this VAM,
short for Vampire. It was originally a Seventrees model. 3rd from left.

One of Ken's Outstanding characteristics is he gets holsters out quickly.
The RSS was in my mailbox 8 days after I ordered it. The VAM took a
few days longer, but not much.

I've had his site "favorited" on my computer for quite some time. Seeing this thread I looked it up and it just popped up like normal.

I don't have any of his products yet, but I'm thinking of getting an SMZ (in horsehide I hear you only have to ask...) for my M12-2 revolver. If he's getting closer to retirement, I may want to get moving and make an order...

I have two of the Null SMZ. One is for J Frame and the other appears slightly larger. Maybe Colt Detective or K Frame? Do not remember buying two of them. Anyway, used the J frame version maybe 12-13 years ago to carry in non-permissive environments, usually under a loose sweatshirt or hoodie.

I did not experience either of the issues described in the article linked above. Fitted up in the armpit, a lightweight J frame does not “flop around” and requires no weak-side strap. The straps on mine are relatively smooth and do not grip an undershirt.

Does this rig have an everyday application? Probably not for most. But, it is REALLY good at deep deep concealment.

Up in post #12 I said I thought Seventrees started the pull-thru phase,
but after thinking about it a little longer, I remembered that Chic Gaylord's
Thunderbolt came before Seventrees.
