All-the-time shoulder holster for a 2" snubbie?

You know, at least for the present, things aren't getting any better around the world. I've always kept a handgun handy in the house, but I think it's time to wear one CCW all-the-time. My lightest revolver is a j-frame. I don't mind wearing a shoulder holster, even under my shirt. No one sees it, it doesn't clunk around standing or sitting, and yet it is handy.
So, I don't think any type of Kydex or inexpensive black nylon shoulder holster would be comfortable for all day wear. That leaves maybe leather with elastic harnesses. Do any of you wear something that way, yet? I fear it's coming, soon. Any ideas on what I should be looking for all day comfort??

Thank you!!!

I've been using this combination at work with a Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander for nearly 2 years and in 35 years of using every shoulder rig under the sun, it's the most comfortable system I've found.

This holster:
S1H SHOULDER HOLSTER COMPONENT: Shoulder Holsters | Galco Gunleather

With this harness:
Half Harness Web Belt W/Belt Clip

Oddly, Galco doesn't offer this rig as a set, so you have to order the components separately.

I like this system so well that I just got another one for my K-Frames.

BTW, Desantis also offers a system like this called the CEO, but I've found I like the Galco better.

FWIW! :)

K L Null in Resaca Georgia makes a shoulder holster that is a pull through and utilizes one snap. It's comfortable and while it is advertised as being made of a thin synthetic material, he will make it out of Horsehide if you ask him. He made one like that for me, and I have allergies that prevent me from having plastic against me for long periods. It is extremely comfortable and as long as you can reach under your shirt, it is also accessible. Give him a call and ask him. I've had mine and worn it regularly since around '98. I do also have a pocket holster and a belt holster for my 637-0.

I also have Jackass shoulder rigs which are the predecessor to the Galco mentioned. But I like them better for larger N and K weapons and 1911's.

If I may point out another member's listing in the classifieds...
"Robbt" has a ton of vintage holsters listed in our own Accessories page right here. It's a little disorganized sometimes because he has so much stuff on there (He's been running it for over 10 years) and a little quirky all the time. But he does have some gems, including shoulder holsters, and the prices are pretty good. Here's a link...

Thank you, GerSan69, I sent him an email but don't see any posts past 2016? He did show a couple that could interest me!

And Johnnu2, I will toss it in my pocket occasionally, but I find a comfortable leather holster with washable straps the most comfortable so far. My pants don't sag, I don't have to worry about it slipping out when standing, and it leaves my pockets free for "stuff".

Thank you everyone!!!! What a world it is.

I have the 9R Bianchi that I use occasionally. (Not all the time) It is the
upside down style and works well with a J Frame. Bianchi also made a
9R-1 and 9R-2 which, hopefully, was improved each time. You can
sometimes find them on the auction sites.

I have the 9R version, and it does not have the belt slots. I believe the
slots came with the 9R-1 and 9R-2. Early on Bianchi called the Model 9
the Special Agent. The Bianchi Model 9 is kind of a descendant of the
Berns-Martin Lightning. A holster that Skeeter Skelton said was "the
only way to carry a snub nosed revolver". I have an old ad from 1968,
when you could buy one for $14. You probably paid a little bit more.

HaHa Yes, sir, I did paid more than that. You know though, I did shop around for one in great condition (Elastic is not worn, spring is still tight, and leather is just worn-in beautifully. It is very comfortable. It takes a bit of training to draw, but it can be done. It's a VERY nice design!!!!

BTW....do you recognize the ammo??? ;)

El Paso Saddlery makes them - I carried a 2.5" M686+ in one for years when I was afield but it's been a long time. I still have it, though. But EPS makes shoulder holsters for a host of guns:

Spyder Shoulder System – Double Holster Rig – El Paso Saddlery

(c) 2021 El Paso Saddlery

I admit I either belt carry or pocket carry a J frame - I'd never use a shoulder holster.

Bianchi 9R excellent choice, also vintage Roys Safariland and Bucheimer shoulder holsters worth considering. At their best with alloy 2" Smith and Colts, Chiefs Special, Cobra and Agent, could also work with 2" M-12. US military had shoulder holsters for aircraft and armored vehicle crews. Civilian use would be someone that spends a lot of time in trucks/cars.

I have a classic Alessi with the pull through snap. Bought it back in the 80s for around $50. I could sell it today and triple my investment but I will never part with it. It was originally tan colored with the old 3 snap style harness. I sent it back to Lou many years back and he upgraded me to the newer style black harness and also dyed the holster and mag pouch…all for only $20. He was one of a kind where leather is concerned. And a great guy to boot.

I also have an old Smith and Wesson upside rig which was to loose for my j frame but fits my Colt DS and Cobra perfectly.
