I used a super comfortable and concealable Renegade ankle holster for my 442 since around 2001. After replacing the Velcro a few times and stitching the elastic, it finally gave up up the ghost last year. With Renegade out of business I almost went with the Wilderness copy but felt $80 was a bit high so I decided on my second choice, the similar designed Desantis Apache. I found one on eBay and it was only $10 and it works just as well as my old Renegade. I then decided I wanted something for my Colt Cobra. Again, I didn’t want to spend a bundle on another ankle rig. Low and behold, about a week ago I saw an auction for this Renegade. At a $15 buy it now price I snatched it up since it looked unused. When I got it in the mail I could not tell it from new. So now I have one for each with a total outlay of $25. Not bad for two top notch rigs. If you aren’t familiar with the renegade, the retaining strap is a pull through design so you only have to grab the grip.
As for the Apache, it holds the gun in so we’ll without the retaining strap that I tuck it inside behind the gun.
