For my 627 snubby.
I had Rob line it so it started extra stiff. Nicely broken in, now.
The knot suits my Scots-Irish heritage, you know.

OP, your holster turned out very nice - great mix of beauty and utility. I only have one semi-fancy holster from El Paso Saddlery. Although I have a Python in it, it’s for my 5” 629. I recently found it at a gun show. NIB for $20.

Thank you. Rob and his team did a terrific job.
Cowhide, both outside and in. The liner is a wee bit thinner.

So, a smooth inside cowhide liner?
If ya don't mind my asking, how much extra was that?

Yes, smooth cowhide lined.
I don't recall knowing the add-on amounts for either of the "options" (lined and carving).
Your best bet would be to call Simply Rugged and ask what their current up-charge for a smooth cowhide lined holster is.

Thanks Bob.
Only reason I asked is because wit the last holster, the only option for lining according to Rick, was pigskin or suede. I didn't want either of them.
Nice to know they do have smooth cowhide
I imagine that would be optimal for protecting the finish

Well, "had" anyway. No telling what they're able to get in this crazy market.
My last Sourdough was a plain black unlined one for a 4" 500. I always felt it was a bit lightweight for that revolver, which is why I asked for this one to be lined. It's perfect.

Simply Rugged sounds like something that the voiceovers should be done by Donald Sutherland.

And that is the one nice thing about these holsters not being "boned" to hold one specific gun. One holster will hold a bunch of guns securely...

Bob makes a good point here about the Sourdough holsters being able to accommodate different models. The one I bought for my 4" Colt Three Fifty-Seven also works well for 4" K-frames and for a 4" Ruger GP100 I just bought on impulse. I'm considering buying a Kramer for the GP100 but with wait times at nearly five months (and counting) it's nice to have a holster I can use while waiting if I go that route...
I think the design of the holster is such that when you cinch your belt it enfolds the gun securely and snugs it up with grips/butt in close under the ribs.
It is a good, reliable, effective design.
