Talking First Milt Sparks

I've been a Galco guy forever but I decided to take the plunge and wait time to order a VM-2 from Milt Sparks. I've heard far too many good things to not at least give them a try, and the magnet straps seem nice for me since I go in and out of no gun zones as an educator all the time. It will be nice to have an IWB holster that I can put on easily in my truck for the ride home instead of a belt hole set up that I have to take my belt off for. Got one of their belts for it because I felt like having a perfect fit, the belt admittedly feels a bit steep on price but buy once, cry once and I feel both will serve valiantly for a good while.

Sparks are great holsters, and the VM2 is my favorite IWB rig. As you said, buy once, cry once…

You will not be disappointed. I have used Milt Sparks leather for many years and it has been exceptional in quality and efficiency in use. They are spendy but, the quality is always noticeable and consistent. I am very happy with all of the holsters that I own built by Sparks.

Got my first Milt Sparks (Summer special, belt and mag pouch) for my first off duty gun (Colt Lightweight Commander) in 1978. Highly influenced by gun mags at the time which touted the gun and holster setup as the absolute must have. Can’t say they were wrong. The package served valiantly. These days I carry OWB and the Commander rides in Kramer (1st photo).
Full size 1911 rides in Kramer (2nd photo) or Milt Sparks (last photo). Both makers are the best in my opinion.
Sorry about photo orientation they are correct when I upload off iPad. Anyone know how to correct that ? Happens to me a lot.

I have a Summer Special for my 1911's that I have had since probably 1980. Still going strong. I put my BHP's in it as well and it works just fine.I also have a OWB models as well. Great stuff!

My first (mid-80s) were for a 3" 65 and a Walther PPK (suit gun) both are still going strong!

MY EDC since 1990 are a 3913, Shorty-9( PC 6906) and 7+1 3913NL in Summer Special & SSII a Executive Companions.

Worth the price and the wait!

I have VMII’s for my Kimber Ultra Carry and 3” Model 60 (this one does double duty with my 640-1 Pro).

Well made and extremely durable. Worth the $$$$….

Milt Sparks makes great holsters! Over the years I have owned a few but I felt they were slightly too bulky. Don't get me wrong, they were strong, durable well fitting and very well built, but just a wee but too thick for my personal preference.

Got a Gold Label Sparks holster for a Browning Hi Power in 1973. It still works along with a SS for a 1911 in 77.

Thanks for the photos, it helps me see what it would look like. How long have you owned that holster? The black has held up better than I expected. I almost called to switch to tan, but yours still looks great!

They're both about 6 years old and, yes, are holding up very well.

I switched my order to tan because I only wear brown dress shoes and they were super cool. I ordered a second belt with decorative stitching since I might as well rotate them to last longer and as thanks for them being so awesome with customer service to make the change to tan. Black looks beautiful but I've just always worn tan or brown
