41 holsters
Couple weeks back I speared a Bianchi #89 for a 7” 41 and dual mag pouch. Is marked #89 S&W. Last week picked up another #89 S&W 41. Much shorter and had no doubt for 41 HB 5”. It came today and dont fit my 5” heavy barrels. Maybe for field 5”?
Anyone run into this. Holster has not been cut or modified. Bottomed out in pic.

A 422/622 would be very similar S&W as far as holsters go.
Ivan
The same mags and mag pouch work for both.

For some reason, I've never considered putting my M41 in a holster, except maybe a break-front type.

It always seemed 41s and other match pistols were transported in cases to ranges. It may be considered uncouth to tote a 41 in a holster but makes it handy if you are in the field plinking. Same with magazine pouches.
If I come across a nice lined holster for a 52 I’ll have it too. I wouldn’t cram any nice gun in a cheap holster that would put unnecessary wear on blue. I have a K22 that has been carried extensively for over 50yrs in good holsters and although it shows a little thinning it’s not bad. Have Single-6 that is a little older that was carried in the cheap belt holsters of 60s and it shows it.

Took me a while to figure out that this Heiser, below, is for a 7" 41. I initially bought it for a Woodsman.
I think your field bbl fit thought for your holster is likely since it's marked for a 41 and that is the only bbl you haven't tried.
Looks pretty couth to me!

I have never holstered my M41 as I would not want to take it into the Field. To me the M41 is a target and competition pistol and I've got much better suited guns for Field work. Those include a M63 (4") and a M65 (3") and so I can't really comment on M41 holsters.

Both my model 41s spend most their lives in gun socks when not in the range case

Yes it would be for the M41 5" field barrel.

I have a pair of those holsters with slightly different markings that I have been trying to figure out what they fit. Now I know.
Thanks.

Here's one that I made up for my M-41 with its 'Field bbl." mounted. It's a nice combination.
Be advised though...the M-41's mag release button sticks out quite far and some holsters will release the mag when worn. One of my sons lost an original mag for my '74 vintage M-41 when out woods walking here on our farm. I made up the one pictured with that in mind. Best Regards, Rod

Don’t much matter whether your at range or in the field a 41 trumps a Kit Gun. I don’t have a 5” field barrel yet but if I do I will still carry the one I can shoot best. You only live once, might as well shoot them. Just because you are carrying it in the field don’t mean you have to abuse it.

The heavy Barrels were 5 1/2" not 5. Probably for a 5" sport barrel like others have said.

Model 41 Holster
So, I have this fine El Paso Saddlery 1920 basket-weave and border tooled holster for a 5 1/2" model 41, but no longer have a Model 41. What to do...

Long age I had a worn, but accurate 41 5" HB. I took it fishing and Grouse hunting. I carried it in My Milt Sparks 1911 holster.
