Here is a very nice 1965 manufacture Colt Detective Special in .38 Special, SN 848XXX. It looks much better than the ****** photos show. Blueing is very dark and glossy with a few freckles and it has the original grips with silver medallion. The hammer shows some freckling and I have not tried to polish or clean anything up. This thing is as tight as a Colt with hardly a turn line. It appears to have been fired very little. You won't be disappointed in this one. $460 face to face here in SC or I can ship to your FFL for an additional $25. Your FFL must be willing to accept from an individual with enclosed ID.

Do you know if this would classify as a
C&R firearm?

It would need to be 50 years old, so looks like it would be C&R in about 2015

Not always. There are a few under 50 yrs old that classify as a C&R
