Buddy of mine has a pretty nice pre-war M&P #642665. Blued, 4 inch, very nice shape. Has shield #10881 stamped on backstrap. Gun would be a 1931-1932 sale at NYCPD. Does not appear in my records but shield stamping is unmistakeably NYCPD.

Gun should letter to NYCPD or to one of the guys on Iron Alley (Herold, Jovino, Sile, Goldblatt)

Interesting find: Original owner must have wanted a fatter grip. He cut shims from business cards and put them under grips. Cards are from a hosiery store down on Canal Street.
