Thumbs up Biggest Brother - The Life of Major Dick Winters

Biggest Brother - The Life of Major Dick Winters
- by Larry Alexander

Just finished this book and it was a dang good read, at least to me. The author had ample access to Major Winters and all the material supplied in the making of Band of Brothers. More of an insight to Major Winters than BOB gave us.

Read the one Mr. Winters wrote himself. The above mentioned book has some "controversy."

Amazon.com: Beyond Band of Brothers: The War Memories of Major Dick Winters (Thorndike Paperback Bestsellers) (9781594132360): Richard D. Winters, Cole C. Kingseed: Books

Another E Co. soldier, Don Malarky, wrote "Easy Company Soldier."

Also any book from Don Burgett. Great 1st hand accounts and written right after the war, but published later. He actually just submitted another I hope will be out by Christmas. He was A/506, D-Day to the Eagle's nest. Also, anything by George Koskimaki or Mark Bando.

"Tonight We Die As Men" by Ian Gardner as well.

Interesting article about the E Co. soldier that even his family didn't know about, Ed Mauser:
Omaha.com - The Omaha World-Herald: Metro/Region - Ed Mauser returns to Normandy

Racegunner,

Thanks for the info. Don't know of the "controversy". Have the Marlarky book, haven't read it yet.

Read all of Don Burgett's books. They are excellent.
