Taking Chance----A great movie
I just finished watching the movie Taking Chance and it an outstanding one in my humble opinion.
It may have been discussed here before but I do not recall it.
It is about a young Marine being brought home to Dubois,Wyoming after making the Ultimate Sacrifice for his country in Iraq.
It is based on an article by Marine Lt. Col.Michael Strobl who was the escort for Lance Corporal Chance Phelps.
I could go into a bit more detail about it but my glasses are still a bit fogged up here.
If you have the chance you need to watch this fine movie

I watched it last month and agree that it was a finely done movie.
My wife fell asleep during it but I thought it was a movie that many should see.

I believe I read the article on which the movie must be based. It was very good in that it showed the love and respect accorded service members -- from their brothers in arms to the general public -- who have lost their lives in Iraq.
That said, I had a hard enough time reading the article, it was so moving. Not sure if I could handle a movie, frankly...

Here is an article that was posted here some time ago. It is still an outstanding read along the same lines as the film.

It's a very moving and touching film, in my opinion one of the finest I've ever seen. I bought a copy on DVD so I can watch it from time to time. Kevin Bacon did a fine job as the Marine light colonel who voluntarily pulled escort duty for the remains. I do heartily recommend it to any and all.
