I went with the entire family today. We had a good day.
In my weakened condtion, I somehow managed to stumble along for a full 4 hours. Because I fear a fall or a good thumping on my incision, I was being extra careful of the idiots who swing long guns around, or who look like their dancing in the aisles. Also those with huge butts on one side and a sack full of crap sticking out one side.
Gun show attending guys are worse (much worse) than women in WalMart. They have absolutely no spacial awareness. If they drove as poorly as they walk in crowds, their cars would be totaled in minutes.
But boy did I see a bunch of nice guns. They seem to be coming out of the woodwork. One of my current fads is 3" N frames. I have no idea why. But I sure saw a bunch of 629s and 657s in that barrel length. I was sorely tempted by an early 4" M29 with cokes, priced at $800. Our occasional poster Blake had a nice set of Cokes on display. He was around $300 on them, I think. It would have been a bargain.
I swallowed any pride I still had and bought a dozen .50 cal cans. Had to borrow the sellers cart to get them out to the car. Some pretty good, too. I also bought 2 dozen CR123 batteries (Panasonic) blister packed.
I found a set of very nice N combats. They're going on my Lew Horton 44 Special.
Reloading components seem to have achieved a price break. I found boxes of ancient Nosler partition bullets. Old boxes, but I don't think they shrink or swell over time. Bought my grandson a set of dogtags. He was really pleased.
I passed on a gun I really wanted. It was a Browning B78 in 7mm Magnum. It even had the impossible to find swivels. Don't know why I didn't buy it. I'll probably be kicking my self for years.
A lot of ammo for sale. And the gougers were out in full force. The Federal Bulk 22s that sell locally for $13.47 were all priced at $25. Guess its just how much of a premium you've got to pay to have someone else visit the crowded aisles of WallyWorld for you.
