I don't think so scooter

I sure the guys that bought Bud studied American tastes real hard and found that your average Bud drinker is every concerned with his health and weight.

Flop like a flounder.

I actually had hopes that the Belgians would breath variety, if not life, into AB after buying it. After all, Belgium is home to over 800 unique brands from 125 breweries.

Alas, we got more malt flavored water. Forget hops at all.

I'll stick to my homebrewed Flagpole Tongue Scotch Ale, a brew so thick I can only drink two in a session, thank you.

Larry Bell already makes an antidote for that stuff. 400 calories per bottle, 10.5%!

Charlie drinks Busch Light ... it adds up quickly.

MGD 64 has 2.8% alcohol content. Miller Genuine Draft has 4.7% with 143 calories. I've had MGD 64 before.. it's not bad. You can always drink two.. get more alcohol and get 15 less calories than in one Miller genuine.

2.8% is still higher than Molson light

I think the 55 cal beer will sell. "Healthy" stuff is a good seller.

Oh.. 2.4% alcohol content for Select 55.

Why not just take an already flavorless American beer and cut it 50/50 with club soda? It would give you about the same results.

Try Bud 'American ale' it actualy tastes like real beer, without the micro brew price.

Years ago when I was drinking much more I tried losing weight by drinking light beer. Gave up taste, but did not give up any weight.

I don't drink much these days, but I like to taste flavorful beers and even though I need to lose 15 lbs or so, I won't go light.

My favorite these days is Duvel. Don't know about calories. Don't care.

Important thing is taste (the 8.5% alcohol content doesn't hurt either).

When I want something a little different, Warstiener Dunkel is also a go to. Appx 5% alcohol.

CDMead brews his own tipple, "Flagpole Tongue Scotch Ale", so he has nano brew pricing!

CDMead:

I agree that the Belgian owners ought to be able to broaden the beer palette. They're still trying to figure out if they want to have the bosses stay in St. Louis or if NYC is more appealing. We'll just have to wait and see. When you decide to bring FTSA to the public, I hope your website will offer overnight shipping.

I'm presently trying the 64 and the 55. Both taste watered down. The 55 moreso than the 64. I prefer the 64 and will probably buy it again.

Charlie if you're gonna drink that 64 beer, I suggest that you just buy full strength and dilute it 50-50 with club soda-you will get the same taste while spending way less money. If you want to kick up the buzz factor, I suggest a half pint of the cheap vodka they sell at the local stop and rob.
Half pint of vodka, tree cans of Bud and a liter of club soda. That ought to do ya ;)

We don't worry about calories either; it's all about the taste.

Duvel is my fiancée's favorite beer. I was able to get those 11.2 oz bottles (as in the picture) when I was in NY state, but here in NH I can't get them - just the 750ml bottles. :) We have some in the fridge right now.

I also like Blue Point Brewing's Toasted Lager. It's named after the town I grew up in so that's a plus right there! Its got a great flavor too.

I'm also a fan of stouts. I'll usually have some Guinness in the fridge as backups. We're going to Ireland this fall, so I'm excited about drinking it on the "home field". When I travel to the DC area I like to eat dinner at the Dogfish Ale restaurants. They have a Chicory Stout that is really good. I'm not a coffee drinker but I do like that stout.

Ah.... the single serving size :D
If you like stouts-try to get hold of some Abita Turbo Dog-pretty tasty ;)

Well if taste is no issue...

These were my drink of choice for a while. They worked:D
Short version: my uncle gave me a Mickey's cap so I had to try it.

I lost my devotion to Budweiser when the "Great American Lager" bacame foreign owned...
