I recently purchased a Schmidt Rubin K11 that has been converted to .308. It took a while, but I was able to find three unmodified magazines for this gun. Does anyone know what is required to make them work with .308 ammo?

Generally nothing. There isn't that much difference in the cartridges as far as maazine function is concerned.

I have one of the 96/11s that has been converted to 308. The original magazine has had one side of the follower planed off a little and there's a piece of sheet steel in the side of the magazine to make the magazine a little narrower. The 308 is smaller in diameter than the 7.5 Swiss. However, I also have an unmodified magazaine, and it works as reliably as the original one.

My rifle was pretty inaccurate until I slugged the barrel and found it to be .311 inch instead of 308 across the grooves. The Swiss gurus swear this isn't possible, but I slugged it twice. It's VERY accurate with .311 hunting bullets; likes 180s better than 150s.

Thanks for the input. I have one modified mag and three unmodified; I noticed the plate was installed and the follower was slimmed down a bit on the modified one. Wasn't sure if something else was done to make it work. Will try the "new" mags without any changes before doing anything.

The new mags appear to be very tight going in and out of the rifle. Guess I'll have to fit these bad boys to this gun.
