Ocotillo, as noted, is sometimes called Candlewood. The Torchwood Tree of Florida is also sometimes called Candlewood. There is a Candlewood Tree, but it is found in South Africa! (All this found out by me via Google search.)

Yep, seems pretty much any unusually resinous wood can be locally called Candlewood.
