Anybody watching? Like it? Dislike it?

I stumbled across this show about a month ago and am now an addict. Not perfect by any means, but easily good enough to keep me coming back.

I've got the first season disks at the top of my Netflix queue, but it seems like half of Southern California does as well. I'm not going to get those disks for weeks, or maybe months.

I try to catch it every week. Makes me want to read the Elmore Leonard books. I loved "The Shield" and it's interesting to see where the writers take this one and how certain characters evolve as the story unfolds. I don't think even the writers know how Walt Goggin's 'Boyd Crowder' is going to turn out. Not good in the end I feel sure. He got to shine as Shane in "The Shield" and I was afraid this character would be the same kind of guy. He manages to bring a different kind of pathos to it.

And anti-hero Raylan Givens has too many weaknesses and is too close to his roots in the area to stay out of trouble. He's a straight arrow for the most part, but he lets trying to help other people get him in dutch too often. And his weakness for women is obvious.

The characters are complex and the plot twists are not predictable. I'm sure if I lived in Harlan, Kentucky I'd find a few faults with it, but that's TV and a 100% accurate show about anything would tend to get boring. If they didn't condense hours, days, weeks, and sometimes months of police work into 30 minutes or an hour, who would watch COPS or "the First 48" ?

I just started the first season a couple weeks ago. I wasn't sure at first, I didn't think that there was anything to set it apart from any other cop show. Now that I'm three episodes in and the characters are starting to develop I'm really starting to like it!

One of the best shows on TV. Watched episodes 208 and 209 last night so I'm all caught up....don't know why he has a Glock though, if I were on that show I would have given him a ivory handled 1911..it fits his character better...:)

I have been a fan since day 1, after getting hooked on "Deadwood".
This second season doesn't seem to have the zing first season had, lots less physical violence, sex and foul language. I see that Mr. Olyphant has "produced" the last couple of shows, hope it gets back to the old hard knuckle cops show the first yr was.

The wife and I got in on episode one and have been hooked from the get go. This second season definitely is different from the first but we still really like it.

I agree about the Ivory gripped 1911. Glock.......pewee!

Wife and I have been watching since the first...The new shows are not as "gritty" as the first. Raylan needs to do more shooting, (with a .45) some of those folks just "need kill'en".
That's why it is called "Justified":D

A producer credit on a TV show means writer...if it says Produced by, then that's the nuts and bolts guy....most likely, they gave him a producer credit to up his pay...

My wife watches it religiously and i know I should check it out more thouroughly. That Glock turned me off, too. When I first saw some scenes of the first episode or two I thought, "now, this would have been a great time to make the hero carry a wheelgun". I just thought "Jelly Brice" here. And a 3.5" Model 27 came to mind. But that's just fantisizing. I go with your ivory 1911 concept. This guy is individual enough to go his own way.
He was great in Deadwood and played that role in a very unique way. He had some weird ticks that I really liked.

Other than BlueBloods it is the only show I watch regularly. The plot and the characters keep it going, I liked the epidoe with Scott Wilson as the old bank robber. He and the older Marshall faced off and he chased him down.

Scott Wilson?! Now I have to go on On Demand and watch these!

I never miss it, even though I am required by my employer to dislike the Marshal's service.

I think Raylan Givens is a great character. Every Marshal I've met lately has been carrying a Glock, so that's probably pretty accurate.

I'm glad they've cut back a little on his shooting people. It's TV, but it should be at least a little realistic.

I'm enjoying this season a lot. I like Bennett clan, especially Jeremy Davies (Upham from Saving Private Ryan) and his idiot brother, even though he administered a comprehensive whuppin' to Raylan last week.

He won't be administering any more whuppins after last night.........

Ooooops, sorry about bein a spoiler. I hate when that happens to me.

I love this show. It is one of the TV shows I consider can't miss. I used to feel the same way about The Shield (another great FX show). I like how smaller, basic cable channels seem to take more risks with new shows. The major networks all seem to want to put more "reality" shows on the air (of course there are a few gems out their).

I watched two back-to-back episodes of The Partridge Family the other day. They were pretty good. (I first put on my pink David Cassidy style Kevlar sweater before admitting this here!)

Is that where this cat's playin a tv Marshall in eastern KY?

Just wait till he has to tangle with the cornbread mafia...
He'll need a couple of BUGs to go with that glock there.

Su Amigo,
Dave

I'll try to watch for the show.

The main character does carry at least one BUG, Dave, but it's a mini-Glock, too.
