By your forum name I would guess that you spend quite a bit of time with the 1911. When we go prairie dog shooting one of the guys always carries his 1911 with shot loads and it works fine with the CCI . But, I know he uses an issue gov't, without heavy springs, slide buffers ,or match grade barrels and bushings. Have you tried the loads in a "standard" gun?

Your pistol will require a change in springs.
BE SURE to change them back when you're done with the shot shells!

I've been using the CCI with no problems in my stock S&W 1911 PD. Have dispatched a groundhog, a snake, a couple of squirrels and some pen raised quail. Even managed to take one quail on the wing!

This is from CCI's website - These cartridges are designed to function in semi-automatic pistols.

the CCI 45 acp shotshell has worked just fine in a Kimber sst compact , Colt Combat Elite. They locked up a S & W 745 and I had to drop a cleaning rod down the barrel and tap it with a hammer. I haven't tried them in my S & W 1911(the basic blue one) yet.

I tried the Remington shotshell( I don't know if they still make this load) and instead of a capsule they used a big rollover case crimp. whne fired in the Colt Combat Elite the crimp unfolded enough that it wouldn't eject through the port.

you just have to try them to see if they will work
