Default Robert B. Parker and Jesse Stone live on...sorta.

I just discovered that there will be at least one more (maybe many more) Jesse Stone novel.

Michael Brandman, who was a co-writer for the Jesse Stone movies that have all aired on CBS about once a year, has decided to pick up the torch and continue with RBP's Jesse Stone series of novels.

Michael Brandman was also the executive producer of Last Stand At Saber River, Crossfire Trail and Monte Walsh. Three of Tom Selleck's best westerns, and some of my very favorite westerns, period.

I've never read anything by Mr. Brandman, but critics say he's perfect for filling the void left behind by Bob Parker's passing last year.

We'll see!

I'll look for the book, but don't like the TV shows nearly as much as I do the books by Parker.

In particular, I think the TV movies are too PC and the writers of those shows don't see Molly as I do. Of course, only Parker really knew what she looked like, but he did describe her.

A couple of others tried writing James Bond books after Fleming died. Neither of them knew what they were doing, in my view.

But thanks for the post. I'll read the book and keep an open mind until I have.

Yeah, I can see a blond haired, Irish-Catholic Molly as well, but I thought Viola Davis did a good job in the movies. Yeah, the movies are a bit PC but they are still refreshing compared to some of the other junk that sours television nowadays.

The first three Jesse Stone movies (Stone Cold, Night Passage and Death In Paradise) were all well put together, but they kinda strayed away from the books a bit. Especially when they did Sea Change. I'll bet it didn't have but maybe one scene in it that jived with the novel.

I always said that they should've made a movie based on Trouble In Paradise featuring Rutger Hauer as James Macklin and Russell Means as Wilson "Crow" Cromartie. Now that would have been a helluva movie!

I agree that the casting people missed the mark on Molly......... In my mind, I always pictured Annabella Sciorra as Molly.

I believe they nailed it straight-on when casting Kohl Sudduth as Luther "Suitcase" Simpson. He does a great job. Great on-screen chemistry with Selleck.

I could live without Jen. In the books----her character really slows the tempo.

He more or less dumped her in Split Image when she called while Sunny Randall was there with him. We'll see if she shows back up in this new one.
